About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I offer counselling/therapy with the aim to help you find better ways to understand yourself, or to bring about changes. Counselling is for people that experience all kinds of difficulties that impact on their well being and happiness.
We can all face issues around anxiety, relationships, stress, overwhelm, burnout, loss and bereavement. In counselling you can explore, gain deeper insight and work on making changes. I have a range of experience working with, but not limited to, generalised anxiety disorder, low mood, anxiety, panic attacks, stress, depression, bereavement and loss, assertiveness, sleep problems, self confidence. I am also a specialist in issues of eating and weight/shape distress.
This is what some of my client’s have said about therapy with me: "Kelly helped me to think differently about the situation and also about myself which helped me. I've learned lots of strategies which I can apply to daily situations when needed and I now feel so much more in control" (client C.L)
"The difference it's made to my life in such a short time is absolutely priceless." (client J.B)
"I love my therapy sessions. I look forward to them each week and leave feeling so much stronger." (Client A.C)
"The ways we talk makes me see things differently, so I can understand how I can change the way I think and act." (Client J.W)
My main counselling qualifications are a degree in Psychology; Diploma in Person Centred Therapeutic counselling; Diploma in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). I do not exclusively focus one approach or model of therapy. During your initial assessment and throughout your sessions we will explore which may be the most effective for you. I am a Practitioner in Eating Disorders through The National Centre for Eating Disorders to work with issues of eating distress.
Practice description
I offer a face to face sessions from my office within the Atkins building in Hinckley. I also offer remote sessions via telephone or video.
Most clients feedback that they find me easy to talk to and that they feel more 'positive' and 'lighter' right from our first contact.
We can have an initial (free of charge) telephone consultation to discuss your needs and goals and how I work and any questions you may have. There is no obligation or pressure to book a counselling session following but if you do want to start sessions we begin by discussing what you would like to get out of therapy and tailor your sessions towards your aims and needs.
