In my experience, the work we do together can best be achieved by you coming to sessions at the same time and day each week – ideally, in-person (although I also offer sessions via telephone and Zoom). If this is not possible due to your schedule or budget, I may be able to offer you fortnightly sessions.
Many people find that 6 – 12 sessions will make significant changes to their lives. For others, longer term work best fits their needs and goals. We will work together to achieve a programme tailored to suit you as an individual and will have regular reviews to make sure it remains helpful for you.
I also offer a full day EMDR Intensive programme which combines work to build your inner resources followed by a deep dive using EMDR to process your memories and the road blocks that may prevent you from living a more fulfilling life.
I work from purpose built rooms to the rear of 17 Moorside Road, Heaton Moor, Stockport, SK4 4DT.
The rooms are close to the four Heatons, Levenshulme, Didsbury, Bramhall, and Cheadle and 10 minutes from M60 jct 1 (Pyramid Roundabout), and are within easy walking distance of Heaton Chapel train station and various bus routes.
Appointments are available Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm. Get in touch to find a time that works for you.
About me and my therapy practice
We all experience losses in life – not just when someone dies but when we lose anything that is important to us: our relationships, our dreams of having a family, our health, our home, our job, our independence, our pets, and our hopes or expectations.
Often, we are able to grieve for those losses and adjust but sometimes we are left feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, angry, guilty, ashamed, withdrawn, or numb for many months or even years later.
Adjusting to losses in life is not about ‘getting over’ them but about finding ways to live a life that includes them.
I am a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist & Counsellor specialising in loss, grief and trauma.
Together we can work to make sense of your loss, to relieve intrusive thoughts and images, and to better manage your thoughts and feelings; helping you to stop feeling stuck, to adjust to events and changes in your life, and to begin to embrace life more fully.
Get in touch to see how we can work together to help you adapt to life after loss.
Practice description
My goal is to help you explore and make sense of what is going on for you, to put it into words, and for us to look for answers and strategies that work for you, so that you no longer feel alone with your loss, grief and trauma.
I trained in psychodynamic and existential theories but work in a way that can best be described as ‘integrative’. This means that I use skills and techniques that are most suited to you as an individual and what you want to achieve through counselling.
I also offer EMDR – an evidence-based treatment that allows you to let go of traumatic memories that have become stuck in your mind by stimulating changes in your brain chemistry with the use of alternating eye movements, sounds and/or taps; helping you to process the obstacles that complicate grief, access positive memories to support you in building a bridge between your life before and after loss, and ultimately achieve relief.
I am one of only a handful of EMDR Intensive therapists in the UK and a pioneer in delivering this type of therapy in the North West. An EMDR Intensive can ‘turbo charge‘ trauma processing and is increasingly considered to be the state of the art way to treat trauma.
I am committed to delivering a high-quality service and work within the BACP’s Ethical Framework.
I offer therapy both in-person at my rooms in Heaton Moor, by telephone and online via Zoom. Get in touch today to see how we can work together so that you can start to embrace life more fully.

Ongoing clinical supervision for practitioners is an essential part of effective counselling and psychotherapy – both in terms of maintaining ethical practice and safeguarding you and your clients.
I aim to create a safe, supportive, challenging, collaborative and creative space where you can explore the issues that your clients bring and those that may come up for you during your client work.
My standard fee is £120 for a 90 minute supervision session.
