About me and my therapy practice
As well as being a BACP Registered/Accredited Counsellor & Clinical Supervisor, I am a qualified Corporate & Executive Coach and Youth Impact Coach where I focus on relationships in work environment and personal home life plus transitional work with children/young people. I am also a qualified Bowen Technique Practitioner. I work with adults, children, teenagers, families and couples in my therapy practice. My Counselling approach is Integrative. I believe that the relationship we hold is of high importance when helping people to make changes in their lives. Amongst using many creative methods in my work, when working with you short term Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focussed Therapy (SFT) are models of Counselling that I use to ensure we are on the right path for you to achieve a more happy and relaxed life. Longer term my work draws on the modalities of Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, Transpersonal and Gestalt Therapy. I specialise in Humanistic Sandplay Therapy which facilitates exploration, expression, awareness and discovery and is beneficial for adults and children who are stuck, unable to express pain in words, or are unable to understand what is going on for themselves, this will help bring unconscious thoughts and feelings to your conscious, a process which I support you through. Also I specialise in Brainspotting (BSP) which is a relatively new type of therapy designed to help people access, process, and overcome trauma, PTSD, negative emotions, pain, including psychologically induced physical pain and performance. I have 7 years experience counselling within a drug/alcohol agency helping people overcome addictions. I also worked 14 years in Social Services as a Family Intervention Worker supporting and counselling families and couples to re-build relationships.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor of Individuals and Groups having trained at The Grove Practice in London at post graduate level. I work with qualified and trainee Counsellors and also undertake Group Supervision, my style of work in Clinical Supervision is sometimes to use creativity to help you tap into your right brain, which opens up the sub-conscious and unconscious, releasing any feelings of being stuck and broadening your thinking in what could be happening for yourself and/or your client and to help you explore relationships with clients and ensure ethical practice is followed.
My Supervision covers:
- Protection for clients, when cases reviewed.
- Reflective space providing insights for improvement.
- Helping identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Gaining learning from peers.
- Opportunity to keep up to date with professional developments
- Alerting in regard to ethical and professional issues in your work which creates ethical watchfulness.
- A forum to consider and hold the tensions that emerge from the needs of various stakeholders in the work of Supervisee (the organisation and the client's profession).
- Allowing practitioners to measure the impact of their work on their lives and identify their personal reactions to their professional work
- Offering a ‘third-person’ perspective (feedback) from myself as Supervisor, who is not part of the client system.
- Welfare and better service to the client.
- A forum of accountability for those to whom the practitioner is accountable (organisation, clients, profession).
My Supervision can be undertaken in a variety of professions & settings: Agencies/Trainee Counsellors/Social Services/Schools/Health (NHS)/Children’s Homes.
