About me and my therapy practice
Many of the clients I work with come with a question: I don’t understand why I feel like this?
They are questioning why they can’t make decisions, why their emotions are up and down and their thoughts are disturbing them.
Sometimes they are searching for themselves: I’m not sure who I am and what I need to be doing. I’m not sure where I fit in the world.
It is common for them to be facing a change that is bringing up feelings. And relationships can be triggering at times.
I help people shine a light into the dark and confusing corners of themselves to nurture balance, harmony and hope.
I help them reclaim themselves from the tangle and the stuckness, connect to their intuition and deep knowing, their gifts and resources, their clarity about who they are and the path they need to take.
I help people – in their own time – release the old wounds and outdated defences that hold them back and keep them separate, so they can step into their wholeness and meet life with greater independence, trust and joy.
I tend to think of myself working with the whole person rather than with problems or issues, but I have experience in supporting people with a variety of things, for example:
• Addictions and Compulsive behaviour; Anxiety; Creativity (blocks); Depression; Bereavement and Loss; Childhood trauma; Disassociation; Recovery from Traumatic Events and Experiences; Complex Post Traumatic Stress; Highly sensitive people; Life stage issues; Miscarriage; Transitions; Limiting beliefs; Forgiveness; Relationship challenges; Consensual non-monogamy / Polyamory; Pregnancy; Toxic relationships and Narcissistic Abuse; Persisting Pain; ADHD; OCD; Problems with Sleep; Spiritual issues
• Developing a greater sense of peace, ease, well-being and resilience.
• Cultivating a harmonious relationship with oneself and arising thoughts, feelings and emotions.
• Learning to listen to and trust intuition.
• Discerning between conflicting inner voices.
• Developing trust in oneself and in life.
Practice description
I approach therapy from a basis of compassion. I've concluded that everyone is doing the best they can - often in challenging circumstances.
I trust the individual's capacity for healing, and I work in a way that facilitates that natural process. This tends to involve a movement from head to heart, from thinking to sensing, developing an experience of grounding and deepening of the embodied experience. And, at the same time, opening to the spaciousness, connection, and innate sense of well-being that is always present - even if covered over.
Bringing these principles into the therapy provides a powerful but gentle way of engaging with inner elements such as emotions and mental states, which can be met and navigated effectively and safely through these means.
My experience has been that every therapeutic relationship is unique. In some ways, it is just a conversation, but through following the organic process over time, certain themes, elements and missing pieces emerge and bring themselves into the space for contemplation and integration.
As therapy progresses, there tends to be a deepening connection to inner knowing and inner resources; new perspectives emerge, and old coping strategies can be released as creative and more flexible and nuanced ways of relating to life emerge.
As well as reflective conversation, I also offer various embodied explorations such as inner child therapy, constellations and embodied meditations.
I provide recordings of meditations for use between sessions if this is wanted. (Although there is no pressure to do this).
My first session
I offer a free 'introductory conversation' of up-to an hour. This allows enough time to touch on the things that have caused you to seek help. I have some 'housekeeping' things I need to go through. And we can generally get a sense of how it is to connect. There is no obligation to make any decision about ongoing work during this time.

I offer a free Zoom conversation of approximately 30 minutes. This is an opportunity for us to talk about your situation and any hopes, expectations and concerns you might have. You can also ask any questions you have, and we can generally get a sense of if it feels right to continue working together.
Currently, I am working online, so an important thing to consider is if you have access to a private space to have online therapy - and if online therapy is going to be suitable for you.
I also have some information about working with me that I share that I send out in a PDF document before we talk (For example, my confidentiality policy). I would check if that information is agreeable to you. This will form the basis of the contract if we continue.
