About me and my therapy practice

I am an Integrative Therapist and the guiding principles that underpin my practice are person-centred. I believe that the relationship between the therapist and the client is of utmost importance. I endeavour to create a safe and non-judgmental environment where, in time, you feel able to express your feelings and thoughts without fear of being criticised or judged.

My role is to provide you with empathy, acceptance and a genuine and authentic relationship. My hope being that you are able to develop greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-esteem. This can lead to positive changes in your behaviour, relationships, and overall well-being.

I appreciate that traditional 'talking therapy' does not work for everyone. With this in mind, I am also able to offer Equine Assisted Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy and Walk and Talk Therapy.

Practice description

Using Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) is considered beneficial since animals have a natural tendency to create a bond with people. This approach often helps therapists overcome some limitations of traditional therapy that rely on talking. Essentially, the therapist communicates with clients through the animal, reducing pressure to talk about feelings/ and experiences.

Equine-Assisted Therapy (EAT) provides an honest, reflective, relational context in which clients can identify their behaviours and patterns. As a result, they create meaningful and abiding relationships (with the horses). Ultimately, the confidence and skills developed during Equine Therapy are transferable to relationships with family and friends. Therefore this is an essential step in growth and recovery.

Some people may find the thought of face to face counselling indoors, in a relatively confined space, very uncomfortable. So, Walk and Talk Sessions may be a helpful alternative. Nature has the capacity to calm, heal, energise and inspire us. Walk and Talk sessions are based on this belief.

Walking with a therapist who is able to listen and help you make sense of your emotional problems, can help to create a new and perhaps less intense experience of therapy.

Inside Out Therapy is based in a lovely village in North Hampshire (near Alton) - from here I am able to offer 'Room Based Therapy', 'Animal Assisted Therapy' and 'Walk and Talk Therapy'. My 'Equine Assisted Therapy' practice is based in Ropley (a small village between Alton and Winchester).

I currently only work with adults over the age of 18.

My sessions start at £60 and Equine Therapy is £80.

I offer a 30 minute initial assessment at a cost of £30 where can explore what you are hoping to gain out of therapy and whether we feel comfortable working together. The number of sessions people require can vary greatly - I am able to offer short-term and long-term therapy.
