About me and my therapy practice
It's OK to not be OK...
Everyone struggles sometimes, and when we are struggling, one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is to talk to someone about our struggles. My aim is to help clients with a wide range of difficulties. My aim is to help *you*.
I firmly believe that all of us have within us the potential to develop and become who we are supposed to be. Sometimes it takes a little digging and self-exploration to find our way to that goal, and I offer a warm, non-judgemental space for you to do this.
I work mainly with adults, helping you to explore your own story and find the way forward that most meets your needs. I am BACP registered and I'm trained in Person Centred and Emotion Focused therapy. I have experience working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, family difficulties, stress, trauma, historical abuse, relationship difficulties, addiction problems, and self-esteem issues.
I see individual adults for both short and long-term counselling or psychotherapy, this is entirely dependent on your own goals and wishes. Many clients have issues that can be helped in just a few sessions, other clients have more complex issues and want to leave the number of sessions open. This is something we will discuss and agree at your initial session, and revisit regularly as we move forward.
You can contact me by email or by telephone. If you are directed to voicemail please feel free to leave a message, in confidence, with your name, your telephone number, and when is the best time to call. I will get back to you as quickly as possible.

About me and my therapy practice
I have been in Private Practice since 2015.
My core training is in the Person Centred Approach; I gained a PG Diploma from Strathclyde University and subsequently a MSc in Counselling, also from Strathclyde.
Whilst working within the Humanistic end of the psychotherapy spectrum, I am also trained in Emotion Focused Therapy, some CBT and elements of Existential Psychotherapy. I have an interest in Psychodynamic theory and practice, and I work pluralistically bringing all of these elements together to met the wants of my clients.
I have trained in several supervision models but will work with supervisees in the way that best meets their needs.
For several years, until this year, I was a lecturer in Counselling at New College Lanarkshire, teaching at all levels from Introductory courses to Diploma level, so I have a good understanding of the ends of counselling students in particular.
Practice description
In my practice I work mainly with adults, helping them to explore their own story and find the way forward that most meets their needs, from a Humanistic perspective, as outlined above.
I have experience working with clients dealing with a very broad range of issues: from depression, anxiety, family difficulties, stress, trauma, historical abuse to relationship difficulties, addiction problems, and self-esteem issues.
I see individual adults for both short and long-term counselling or psychotherapy, entirely dependent on their own goals and wishes.
You can contact me by email or by telephone. If you are directed to voicemail please feel free to leave a message, in confidence, with your name, your telephone number, and when is the best time to call. I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
