About me and my therapy practice
MH Counselling & Therapy Durham
Life can be difficult at times and you might be feeling overwhelmed, lost, stuck or dissatisfied. Whether you're dealing with personal struggles, the pressures of university life, or seeking personal growth, counselling could be the next step towards:
- Making sense of what you're going through.
- Discovering your inner resources.
- Making positive, meaningful changes.
- Increasing your sense of well-being and fulfilment.
I'm Melanie Hudson, a qualified and accredited counsellor in Central Durham. I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can feel truly heard and understood. Together, we'll explore your challenges, strengths, and ideas on how to move forward with greater insight and resilience.
I work with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, and the unique challenges faced by students & university staff.
As a humanistic integrative counsellor, I focus on building a safe and trusting relationship while tailoring my approach to your unique needs.
If you have any questions about therapy, concerns about starting counselling or you'd like to book an appointment, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Practice description
With over fourteen years of experience in various support settings, including Victim Support, Durham University, and Citizens Advice, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my counselling practice.
I spent four years as a Practice Counsellor in GP surgeries before fully dedicating my time to private practice, which I have now been running for over eight years.
I offer appointments face-to-face in central Durham, as well as online via Microsoft Teams, or by telephone.
The core principles of counselling remain the same across all formats, though online and telephone therapy come with their own unique benefits and challenges. For more information, please visit my website or get in touch.
