About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling anxious, stressed, depressed, low in mood? Do you have lack of motivation? Is there an underlying out of sorts feeling, like you're treading water rather than really living? Are you struggling in relationships? Would you say you have a lack of confidence and self worth?

If so I would love to support and help guide you to understand your patterns of behaviour, triggers and unhelpful beliefs that are holding you back, working towards achieving your full potential. I feel it's important that you feel encouraged, empowered and supported at all times without judgement and working at the pace you feel comfortable.

"Outstanding.

Lisa has helped me overcome a lot in a short space of time that the NHS couldn’t do for 19 years. Lisa style of therapy is very helpful and comforting being able to do the therapy on my phone in my house were I am comfortable to talk and open up.Lisa helped me find coping methods and strategies to deal with my anxiety to the point I can now deal with it before it happens. I would highly recommend Lisa to anyone her help has put my life on a very healthy track."

Practice description

How I work

I've been working as a Counsellor for around 12 years and after training in London I'm now based in Richmond, Yorkshire.

I see clients online over FaceTime, Teams or WhatsApp.

This enables me to work with clients locally or across the UK and overseas.

In addition to my four Diplomas I have received training in working with clients experiencing domestic violence and with addiction issues.

I work with a variety of techniques which means I adapt to my clients needs (we all need to be supported in different ways.) Clients often comment they like the fact I work in quite a proactive way in that I really encourage and empower you to make the changes you strive for.

This is time for you. I will be here to work alongside you, to listen to you in a non judgemental way so that we can build a strong and trusting, equal relationship. I am here to help and support you to understand yourself better, so that you can identify what you want and need in your life and by working together help you to make positive changes.

Please feel free to contact me to have an informal chat...

My first session

Counselling is very personal and it’s vital you feel you can open up to me. To find out if this works for you we will arrange a phone conversation where we can find out more about each other.

This session lasts for around 20 minutes and is free of charge which I believe helps you feel less pressurised and nervous and more safe and relaxed. It is also a chance for you to explore what it is you want from the sessions and ask me some questions too.

The first session consists of mainly paperwork which includes an assessment, contract between the two of us outlining confidentiality etc and a couple of admin forms. This I believe helps you to feel more relaxed rather than starting the actual sessions straightaway and also gives you a good understanding of how we'll work together.

It's up to you how many sessions you decide you need.

I also offer life and career coaching which is something many of my counselling clients choose to work with me on after their counselling. This rare and extremely beneficial offering then helps them to set and achieve goals for the future.
