About me and my therapy practice
I work online only.
In our first session we will explore what you are currently experiencing and a little bit about key life events that may have been important. You will find out about my way of working and will have the opportunity to ask questions, or explore concerns about entering therapy. You are never committed to anything beyond the next session that you've booked.
I see our work together as a collaborative process so I will always be willing to explain what I'm thinking and offer ideas for things to be doing in session or between sessions. We can decide together if these ideas work for you. Some clients like their therapist to mostly listen and support, others like the sessions to be more active or have a focus. I can be very flexible to help you get the most out of each appointment.
I love my work and feel privileged to support clients in making positive changes. Clients have described me as warm, friendly and approachable. As part of my professional and ethical responsibility, I am committed to ongoing training, regular supervision (a requirement for BACP members), and practising good self-care.
Practice description
In the spirit of collaboration and giving my clients as much agency as possible in their therapy, I can offer various modalities that clients can choose from (traditional talk therapy, using imagery and creative processes, journal and expressive writing exercises etc.). Together, we will develop a plan for how you want to work, and how I can best support you.
You may want longer sessions but meet less frequently, you may want to have things to work on between sessions to discuss together that allows you to maximise our time together. We can find a way of working that allows you to get the most out of your sessions.
My first session
After an optional free 15-20 min phone or Zoom chat, we will schedule at least one session. These last 50 minutes and cost £60 (payable in advance using an online secure platform)
If you want to proceed after this session, we will schedule up to 2 subsequent sessions so you can plan ahead. These ongoing sessions usually last between 50-75 mins but we will discuss any alternative formats.

About me and my therapy practice
As a counsellor with over 20 years's experience in various settings (schools, universities, community mental health, charities and the NHS), I know how important it is to have a supervisor who shows genuine interest in you and your client work. Getting to know what makes you unique is a key focus of mine, so I can understand the rewards and challenges of your counselling work. My main specialist and interest areas are: relationships, identity (including sexuality and gender identity), depression, life change transitions, coping with illness, and grief.
I have experience in the following theoretical models: person-centred/humanistic, systemic, interpersonal psychotherapy, solution-focused therapy, couples theories.
You bring your client work, and your observations, questions, concerns or things you feel proud to share, and I will bring my experiences, training and enthusiastic curiosity. Together we will collaborate to keep you focused, engaged and supported so that you can provide the best service to your clients.
I use the 7 Eyed Model of Supervision developed by Shohet and Hawkins, and I add my own creative ideas to help you consider different aspects of your work. This might involve using imagery in our discussions, or even finding ways to creatively represent elements you are finding challenging. If you are a visual person, or if you enjoy exploring art (either by doing it or just viewing it) we might be a good fit. There may be ways we can bring the natural world into our discussions, if that appeals to you. I have many ideas, and I will offer these to you, but they are all optional and ultimately, you can choose what will work best for you.
Please contact me if you would like to arrange a Zoom call to check if we might work well together. I am really looking forward to supporting you!
Practice description
Initially we would arrange a 15-30 min Zoom or phone call so that we can find out a bit about each other and see if we might be a good fit. Before this call, I will send you an information sheet about me so you can ask further questions. I will ask about your training and experience and current context of your work and also about what you are hoping for from supervision (both the practical expectations and what you'd like to happen).
If we decide to proceed then I would send you a supervision contract to read, complete key information and sign. If you are a student, we would ensure that any other contract with your training provider is completed at this stage and I may have some questions about any other requirements.
If you like to have structure, I can provide a template to help you prepare for our supervision sessions, which typically would be 1.5 hrs each month.
Although I do work creatively at times, this is not always suitable, and it is not a requirement. We would collaborate to find an approach that works for you.
My first session
I offer a 15-30 min initial session as described above.
Ongoing sessions are free of charge while I am on placement. This will be subject to change once I am qualified but all supervisees will be given plenty of notice when fee changes are due to take place.
