About me and my therapy practice
Counsellor/psychotherapist with an established practice online and by phone.
I've worked in local mental health and bereavement services as well as employee assistance programmes and privately.
One aim in the sessions is to relieve the immediate effects of what's bothering you so you start feeling better as soon as possible.
Another aim is to bring more understanding of why this is happening so you can feel deeply better about yourself and more ease in life.
So we'll talk about the events and relationships that have shaped you through your life from your early childhood and later. This will help us identify repeating patterns, and how they may still be affecting your present (psychodynamic).
At times I'll suggest other ways of looking at situations that you can try out to make changes in daily life. These might include concepts from CBT, Mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
We'll informally review and adjust the above approach from time to time. In this way, it can cater for both what you find is useful from session to session, and for a wide variety of mental health difficulties including the broad sweeps of anxiety, depression, self sabotaging inner voice, and relationship disruptions.
Practice description
Your session will be by video call or phone.
Sessions are 50 minutes. Fees are £50.00/session.
Optional discount available after the first session: 10% reduction for 4 sessions when booked and paid in advance: £180.00.
This straightforward pricing is intended to allow the widest possible access to quality counselling and psychotherapy.

My first session
We'll start talking together right away. I might ask a few questions as we go along or you might have questions for me.
During the session, we'll be clarifying what your current situation is, what it is you want to address in your counselling, and what you want to get out of it. We'll also be starting to confirm if we'd like to work together.
Towards the end of the session, we'll confirm together how best to go forward, and agree any plans for this.
I'll email you an information/agreement sheet to confirm the general arrangements for your sessions, our contact details, and data protection and confidentiality details.
