About me and my therapy practice
As a supervisor the training that I completed is not modality specific and therefore working in different modalities is an option that I am open to.
As a therapist, I originally trained in client-centred therapy and have since acquired a certificate in Third Wave CBT. I also have a basic understanding of some other models of therapy for which I integrate a variety of skills within my competence as a therapist.
I work with couples, adults and young people in private practice and with adults within Employee Assistance Programmes. I offer client short and long terms therapy, including Solution Focused Therapy. A lot of work that I do as a therapist is around anxiety, panic attacks, traumatic experiences and relational.
I would like to opportunity to enhance your practice as a supervisee or trainee counsellor. I will support you to work within your model and codes of ethics by encouraging ongoing discussions around this. We can work together paying attention to your ethical practices and boundaries within our profession, to explore positive outcomes. We can work in collaboration to address any noticeable discrepancies or highlight any training needs.
What therapists or trainees often need, is to feel safe to explore their work with clients and celebrate their positive outcomes. At the same time to also discuss those clients that they perceive as not going so well and to come to terms with their experiences by looking for a positive way forward.
During your development as a trainee counsellor or trained counsellor/psychotherapist, I will encourage and model safe practice within supervision and openly communicate any concerns I may have. I hope this will help you to feel safe to reflect on and to encourage you to develop a plan in how you choose move forward.
