About me and my therapy practice
Therapy is time just for you. A space in which to freely express your thoughts and feelings in a uniquely safe environment, no editing required.
A private, confidential and non-judgemental setting for us to think together, to unravel what is going on for you and to find beneficial ways forward.
I work with adults of all ages, from all walks of life, who bring many kinds of difficulties. I am warm and nurturing and I will help you to notice and to understand what is going on for you.
Perhaps you are feeling unsure quite what it is that troubles you.... or where to begin…. or just what you want to say. No matter, we can decipher it as we work together at a pace that is right for you.
Engaging in therapy may feel daunting and courageous and at times the process can be. It can also bring the benefit of being very freeing and empowering, as I have witnessed many times.
Practice description
My practice
Respecting that every person is individual, there can be no “one size fits all” and so nothing about the way I work is prescriptive.
Broadening my knowledge through continually learning and developing understanding of different theoretical approaches and by keeping updated about new ideas, affords me the flexibility to look at how best to approach our work together and enables me to draw on what feels most appropriate.
I achieve this by attending workshops and seminars; reading books and Journal articles; through regular supervision; from working with my clients.
Sessions – face to face and online
Appointments on Tuesdays and Fridays between 11am and 7pm
Where to find me - I am now based at The Humber Therapy Centre NG9 2FD
If travelling on foot, cycling, by bus or tram: we are halfway between the tram stops at University Boulevard and Middle Street, about a 10 minute walk from either.
If travelling by car: at the corner of Humber Road and Queens Road East, a driveway leads to the car park at the front of our building.
How many sessions?
The very nature of therapy involves working with unknowns, so we can’t definitively know in advance how many sessions will be enough.
This will depend on your needs and wishes. Often my work is long term but it is a decision to be reviewed, considered and agreed together as the work progresses.
My first session
We will talk a bit about what brings you for support and what you hope to achieve. It is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have and for you to get a sense of whether you would like to work with me.
To arrange an initial appointment please phone 078288 76589
