About me and my therapy practice
At times life can feel unbearably stressful & overwhelming. It’s not always easy to work out what to do to feel more content & in control of your life. This can be potentially lonely & confusing. These feelings can lead to various issues including poor sleep, difficulty concentrating, low mood and anxiety.
I can help you to explore issues and difficult feelings, at a pace that feels right for you, in a safe & regular space. I am able to listen, without judgement or criticism, to help you to gain a better understanding of your thoughts & feelings & to work out how to overcome these or find ways to cope.
I have worked in various support roles & settings over many years including:
- NHS Adult (and Older Adult), Mental Health Teams & carer support services.
- A college for students with disabilities.
- Supporting University students that have mental health issues.
- Charities, supporting carers and families.
- In these various roles I have supportied people with ADHD and Autism.
I am currently offering weekly online sessions. (We can discuss the possibility of fortnightly sessions).
I understand the idea of online counselling can feel daunting, especially if you don’t feel confident with IT. Sessions can be easily accessed, from various devices, by clicking onto a link that I provide. I encourage clients to have their phone available so that we can speak to each other if you have any difficulty so that I can help. There are many advantages to accessing online counselling including the convenience of not having to travel and being able to fit sessions more easily into a busy schedule, in a space you feel comfortable in.
I have completed additional training to offer online sessions.
Practice description
Through my various working roles & personal experience, I have developed a particular interest in helping clients with various issues in connection with:
- Caring roles
- Menopause (including peri-menopause)
- Relationships
- Stress
- Not feeling good enough & worrying about what others think.
- Living with a disability or a long term condition.
- Adapting to retirement.
My first session
It can take courage to admit something feels wrong, & ask for help, especially if you have not experienced counselling before.
We can arrange an initial 15 minute phone or video chat to decide whether you would like to work together. Arranging an online chat can help you to decide if online counselling feels right for you. I charge £10 for the initial chat.
I aim to contact you within 48 hours of your enquiry - please ensure you check your spam/junk folder.
If you decide to go ahead payments are made prior to the counselling session/chat to secure the booking.
At your first counselling session we can start to get to know each other, agree how to work together and you will be able to start to tell me what you would like to talk about.
Online sessions are weekly for 50 minutes.
I will provide a copy of my contract and privacy notice before we begin working together.
Feel free to get in touch if this feels right for you.
