About me and my therapy practice
I am the founder, CEO and counsellor of Action for Asperger's. A UK-wide charity that provides autism-specialist counselling for 'lives that have become adversely affected by Asperger's syndrome/autism'. I hold a PGC in Asperger's syndrome and a Master's degree in autism to bolster my strong experiential history. I have counselled over 6,000+ autistic individuals over a twelve-year period and regularly give talks on 'what works when counselling lives affected by autism'. In 2016 I received an MBE in the Queen's birthday honours for my work in this field. This was the first and only time a Queen's honour made for Asperger's syndrome specifically.
In July 2021 I completed a four-year body psychotherapy training, and so am also registered with the UKCP (member no 2011166457) as a trainee body psychotherapist. I conduct body psychotherapy work one day per week from my office in Wollaston, Northants. My autism-specialist counselling work I do the remainder of the time, both charitably and privately, from my offices in Corby (north Northants) and Wollaston (south Northants).

I also work closely with psychologist colleagues conducting autism gateway assessments.
Practice description
I was a pioneer of video counselling having used the medium to reach out to socially awkward Asperger clients in the mid to late noughties. I work by video platform (I use most video platforms, though mainly ZOOM) and consult in person in Corby or Wollaston, Northants. I see all ages from 3-100 and can offer couples, family and individual therapy.
In terms of my body psychotherapy work, I only work with individuals and regard this work as distinct from my autism work, and though it is preferable for my body psychotherapy work to be in person, I can also consult by video.
My first session
During the first session we will take 10-15 minutes to discuss the ramifications of the counselling contract, and then we will proceed into therapeutic working from that point onwards. At the end of the session, if it is decided that we can work together, then future appointments will be made.
My fee is £75 per hour for my autism work, payable in advance of the session taking place. You will be advised on how to pay, in writing, ahead of the first session. This process will be the same for each and every session thereafter. Cancellations will be chargeable at the full rate is less than 24 hours notice of cancellation occurs; more than 24 hours notice gives me a chance to find someone to take your vacant space.
For my body psychotherapy work, my fee is £50 per hour.
