Practice description
I work from an integrative perspective, with a focus on traumatic stress and attachment trauma. Every client is an individual and regardless or age and I offer therapy tailored to work from your perspective and world view. I have worked for over 12 years with adults and children/young people of various age groups in the community and private sectors including primary school settings, employment assistance providers and charities alongside my private practice. I see clients aged 8yrs+.
I always work from a confidential, non-judgemental perspective, offering an empathetic space to explore the issues you feel are important and want to change.
Common issues I work with include:-
Anxiety (inc separation anxiety & OCD in adults & children)
Low mood and depression
Low self esteem, perfectionism & feelings of shame
Trauma including childhood sexual abuse & PTSD
School and university stress
Work stress & burnout
Relationship & family issues
Loss and bereavement
Anxiety based school avoidance
Separation anxiety in children
My first session
Initial sessions involve assessment of your current difficulties and brief exploration of what you want to achieve from therapy. I explain the therapeutic process and what to expect in our upcoming sessions while respecting and prioritising what you want to achieve. I see therapy as an investment in the process of change and a way to work through difficulties but also an opportunity to learn more about yourself. My aim is to provide a safe, caring and understanding place where issues can be worked through at the client's pace yet achieve the results and goals they have in mind at the end.
