About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Suzy - an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor and EMDR therapist, working online only at the moment, via Zoom and WhatsApp.
Could you do with some support right now? It's really hard to face and create change on your own - and it takes courage to seek help - but through counselling, you could get to a place where your life feels more comfortable - a place you really want to be and somewhere you could flourish and feel content. I can't wave a magic wand but, working collaboratively with you, I could help you to discover how to live your best life.
I saw my first counselling clients back in 2013 and have worked with many people since then, bringing all kinds of issues. Specialist areas for me are helping those with:
•anxiety and panic attacks
•bereavement, grief and loss
•low self esteem, low mood and depression
•attachment, relationship and family issues
•trauma, PTSD, stress and insomnia
•the legacy of difficult childhood experiences
•the pressures of chronic illness or of being a carer
So if you are looking for some support, do get in touch - I really look forward to hearing from you.
(Please check your junk mail box for my reply if you email ...
... telephone enquiries are always very welcome too!)
Warmly,
Suzy
Practice description
As a humanistic, integrative and pluralistic counsellor, my work is client-led, individually tailored and holistic, whilst incorporating a number of theoretical approaches.
I will work alongside you to create a safe and confidential therapeutic space based on a compassionate, honest and non-judgemental professional relationship - so you can feel free to explore your concerns and start your process of self-discovery and change, with confidence.
My clients are of all ages, from 16 years upwards and I would welcome your enquiry, whoever you are and whatever your background.
I am experienced in working with a very wide variety of issues and have specialist training in working with trauma, bereavement and the use of creative arts in therapy.
I have worked as a counsellor with victim support, a fire fighters charity, a social housing provider, a bereavement counselling charity, a carer's support group, a family counselling organisation a group supporting frontline workers and an EAP.
Before becoming a counsellor, I was a clinical physiologist in the NHS, specialising in cardiology. I am also qualified as a reflexologist, although no longer practicing.
(And I have three grown-up children and two dogs - but by no means a perfect or problem-free life!)
