About me and my therapy practice
I’m a Senior BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist, and have been Accredited since 1993, with over 30 years experience in private practice, universities and the NHS.
Therapy is a safe place to talk about your feelings and look for help to resolve difficulties in your life.
As a therapist I look to help you make sense of what is going on, helping you to find meaning and solutions to problems.
You can arrange a free brief introductory phone or zoom call, and this can be helpful for many people.
I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is vital to help you feel heard and understood, and it doesn’t matter if you have a clear difficulty or are not sure exactly what the problem is at this current time.
My approach is integrative with a strong psychodynamic base, and I draw on 25 years experience of offering cognitive behavioural therapy and other approaches.
In addition to private practice, I worked for 11 years in the NHS, including creating and managing a counselling service for 13 GP practices. I also have 16 years experience managing a large counselling service and as a senior manager at London School of Economics, and currently work at London Business School.
I have worked for many years as a trainer and core trainer on the CPPD BACP Accredited counselling course, and am a Trustee for BlindAid Charity.
Qualifications include
- Senior Accredited Member of BACP, initial accreditation 1993
- MSc from Birkbeck College/ British Association of Psychotherapists 1999

Practice description
Therapy offers a space to help you make sense of difficult issues in your life, and it’s important that you feel safe and understood within this confidential setting.
We can arrange a free brief introductory phone or zoom call if you would like to get in touch for a preliminary conversation, and many people find this initial contact helpful before making a decision about starting therapy.
I work near Victoria Park in Hackney, East London and offer therapy both in person and online, including to people based outside of the UK.
Therapy sessions can take place within the daytime and early evenings, and there is a choice of in person and online sessions.
Some people prefer to meet for in person therapy sessions. We can also arrange a blended approach, if you are looking for a flexible pattern of in-person and online meetings. Many people prefer the convenience of online sessions. I also work with a number of people based in other countries, where we can also arrange session times that take into account any time differences.
As well as offering individual therapy, I also work as a supervisor and offer non line-managerial supervision and consultancy to staff working in the NHS and a range of other organisations.
You are welcome to get in touch if you have any questions or enquiries.
Fees for 50 minute sessions from £100, and concessions for trainee counsellors may also be available.
