About me and my therapy practice
Are you feeling anxious or depressed? Perhaps you're having problems with anger or aggression, addiction or trauma. Perhaps you’ve suffered significant loss or bereavement or you’re living with a life-limiting condition or illness. Maybe you just want to understand yourself and others better to improve your sense of wellbeing.
Whatever your reason for looking for counselling or psychotherapy, it’s the beginning of a journey through which you can grow and develop and make personal changes to benefit you for the rest of your life. Research has shown how counselling can make a real difference to our lives, especially within a strong therapeutic relationship.
As a psychodynamic therapist and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I believe ethical practice is an essential element in providing a safe and secure environment within which my clients and I can uncover and explore their experiences and work through them to emerge with a new sense of resilience and self-confidence.
If these are issues that affect you then contact me for an initial meeting to discuss your needs and explore how counselling/psychotherapy might help you.
Practice description
As a psychodynamic therapist, my aim is to help you work through any issues you feel you wish to explore so that you can live more comfortably and contentedly in future. We cannot change the past but, by working through its effects in the present, we can learn to live with it differently and in a way that will help you develop new skills and abilities to deal with adversity in the future. The confidence and resilience that builds from this can be truly life changing.
My first session
My first session is an initial discussion about you and your needs in which you will be given time to experience what it’s like to be in therapy and to make a more informed choice as to whether you wish to proceed into a full therapeutic relationship.
As such, this session is a full 50 minutes long and will afford you the opportunity to ask any burning questions you might have before making your decision.
This session is charged at the full session rate but the fee will be waived should you decide not to proceed any further with the therapy.
