About me and my therapy practice

Two forms of therapy are offered and can be used either as one type or combined animal assisted therapy.  The strength of animal attachment is very encouring and as I hold a MA in the psychology of touch, it is an integral part of the therapeutic process.  However, I must strees that is is not compulsory.

The creative arts psychotherapy, child adolescent and family therapy includes art, music puppets and sand tray work.

Speacial interest and experience with CLA, young people, PTSD, ADHD and autistic spectrum.

Practice description

Schedule - 12 sessions with Goodman SDQ.

After the 12 sessions progress meetings are held to determine the benefit or not of the intervention.

A 4 week break is scheduled in between the courses to avoid dependency.

Weekly therapy reports are supplied.

In the event of divorce/separation, both parents are expected to sign and agree to the therapy - CLA, young people, social workers and carers.

My first session

The fiest session is an informal 'getting to kow you time' with no fee involved.

The clients are introduced to the animals, dogs, ponies and sheep if they are happy to do so - but not compulsory.  The various items in the play room are explained and the clients are invited to 'have a go'.

Ground rules are explained such as confidentiality, cancellation policy, and payment.  If the clients wish to proceed a contract is given to sign prior to the second meeting.
