About me and my therapy practice
Louise is a warm, widely experienced therapist with a huge capacity for unconditional positive regard.
Creating safety, in a non judgemental space, through nervous system regulation is her specialty. Here, you will be able to do the work needed to move through your trauma responses and coping mechanisms, to get to your own inner knowing and core self. Thus being free to be your true self in the world and live life however you wish to.
Louise will be alongside you, supporting you to feel safe in the present moment whilst you release what is held in your nervous system from the past. Using a somatic approach to achieve this in a gentle way that avoids overwhelm or re traumatisation, Louise is a specialist practitioner in this area.

Practice description
Louise is an experienced therapist, specialising in a somatic approach to therapy for anxiety and trauma.
Trauma can be any stressful life event which our nervous system is unable to process at the time. Perhaps we did not feel safe enough to do this, sometimes for many years.
This can show up as;
Anxiety &/or Panic attacks
Flashbacks or Nightmares Unexplained physical symptoms People pleasing
Addictions & Compulsive behaviour
Psychoeducation
Louise normalises your response to what you have experienced by explaining what happens in our mind & body as a result. You did what you needed to do to survive. Your coping mechanisms have kept you safe and you wont be judged for them. This approach reduces shame and allows you to approach the work with empathy and respect for yourself.
Practical Tools
You will also learn self regulation techniques to provide a sense of safety both in session and when you experience unwanted symptoms in your daily life. Louise teaches you the tools you need to navigate being triggered, flooded or dissociated. This can be a combination of grounding techniques, breath work, visualisations, shamanic power animals, toning and postures. Processing - Slow is Fast
A slow gentle approach to therapy avoids overwhelm or re-traumatisation and allows us to work towards you feeling safe to eventually feel the feelings you were once unable to feel so that you can let them go and be free to live your life however you
