About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Jackie, and I am a registered counsellor with the BACP and registered and accredited with the ACC. I have over 18 years experience in a role I am passionate about. You may have visited this website because you, a friend or loved one, is feeling unhappy, overwhelmed by life, struggling with a particular life event or difficult emotional issue, or simply feeling 'stuck'. Taking the step of seeking counselling is courageous, and can sometimes feel frightening or confusing. I am able to help you gently through this process, and together we can work towards making your therapy a positive, healing and life enhancing experience.
I know how important it is that both the therapy and the therapist meet your own unique needs. I work in a Person Centred way, journeying alongside you and supporting you as we explore together your deeper issues and the things that matter most to you. We will work at your pace and I can offer short term or longer term therapy, either face to face or online. With the cost of living rising, I actively welcome clients who may want fortnightly sessions, in order to spread the cost of therapy.
Practice description
I have previous longstanding experience of setting up and running a successful Counselling Service for a local mental health charity. During this time I had an extensive client case load. I have a proven record of working with a wide range of the concerns that clients may bring to counselling including anxiety, depression, complex mental health issues, trauma and bereavement.
I now work from my own private practice from my home. I offer therapy that is welcoming, non judgemental, empathetic and puts you, the client, at the heart of the process. You can choose between face to face therapy, online or telephone consultations, and you can choose how often we meet.
My first session
During our first session together we will have an opportunity to get to know one another whilst completing an in depth assessment form. You will be under no obligation to continue therapy with me after this first session, the decision about whether to continue will be entirely up to you. If you do decide to continue your therapy with me, we will then book you in for regular sessions at a time and frequency convenient for you.
