About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist, counselling supervisor and educator who trains other to counsel at the University of Chester. I have experience working at Mind, with women in prison and, as well as having my own private practice, have run several therapeutic groups. I have worked with many issues, and specialise in working with bereavement and depression. I am trained in EMDR and use this when working with trauma.
I am a pluralistic counsellor which means that we would decide together how you would like to work and I also offer creative, expressive methods. I have my own counselling space, which has been described as 'a little oasis' and I also work online, both for counselling and EMDR work.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and am GSRD aware.
Contact me if you'd like to see if we are a good fit. I realise that it can be confusing when offered so many different types of therapy but I would explain the modalities to you at this meeting, including EMDR. The first meeting would be free, to make sure we can work together.
If we work together for over 6 sessions the cost of therapy will be reduced.
If you contact me and don't get a reply, please check your spam folder.
Practice description
I am a person-centred pluralistic counsellor which means that I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship for results, which is why it is so important that you find the right therapist for you. I am also qualified in EMDR, mindfulness and EFT (tapping) and so can offer a more directive approach and practical tips such as on ways of grounding and dealing with negative thoughts. If working more creatively suits you, we can use sandtray, miniatures, cards and stones or you may chose to draw a Tree of Life to examine your life and goals but again this will depend on how you wish to work.

About me and my therapy practice
As members of the BACP we all need to have supervision and so it's really important to find the right person to make sure supervision stays fresh, you feel supported and continue to deepen your knowledge and practice.
I am an integrative counsellor, gaining an MA in counselling from the University of Manchester. I currently work in private practice, and am a lecturer in counselling and psychotherapy at Salford University and Metanoia Institute.
For supervision I use the Hawkins and Shohet 7 eyed model and am suppportive and non judgemental, combining my educative and counselling roles.
I have experience working with adults (through Mind, private practice and Styal women's prison), children (with Mind and Place2Be) and young people (6th form college).
