About me and my therapy practice
I have 24+ years of experience working with young people and adults in the counselling/therapeutic field and my back ground is in nursing and midwifery.
I provide a humanistic, integrative relational therapy and believe that psychological change can occur in the context of a sound, safe, therapeutic relationship. I aim to provide this safe and containing space for you to bring the issues that are disturbing you.
I believe that everyone has the potential to be the best that they can be, this actualising potential at times may seem lost to us, because of events that have occurred in our lives. As we work together, then my aim is to enable you to re engage with this potential to make healthy changes for the better, both in the relationship you have with yourself and in relationships with others. In my years as a therapist the one factor which seems to be the core of our distress, is that of fractured, lost, confusing or damaging relationships.
In our work, if is is appropriate, we may work creatively with image, metaphor, sand or art materials, negotiated and contracted use of touch. This will always be discussed and agreed, first in our contracting with each other at the start and throughout our work.
I have DBS and ICO registration and checks.
Practice description
I work from an upstairs room in my residential address. It is set aside for therapeutic work and is undisturbed. Unfortunately I do not have disabled access.
I work face to face or online via Zoom with clients offering long and short term therapy. I work with a number of EAP's and clients have included members of the armed forces, police, and the NHS this work is solution focussed
Following your initial enquiry, I will aim to contact you back, within the week, by the method you contacted me. There may be some delay if I am on holiday or engaged in a conference.
When we make contact, there is some opportunity for you to find out a little more about myself and how I practice, and for me to find a little of the issues that you might bring. This allows you and me to 'get a sense' of how we might relate together. If at this point you would like to make a first appointment for an assessment meeting we can arrange that, or, if you are contacting a range of therapists (which is a good thing to do) then we can agree a date that I will remove your contact details from my computer/phone if I hear nothing more from you. I encourage you to speak to others to get a sense of them and me, this encourages your autonomy and self agency.
My first session
The first session is an assessment session for both of us and will last for the therapeutic hour (50 mins). In this session we will discuss the working contract, this can be emailed to you to read before hand along with guidance for working on Zoom should that be required. It also covers confidentiality and expectations of both yourself and myself through our work together.
Within this session I will ask about your family history, medical history, what is bringing you to therapy and what you want to get out of it. We will also talk about risk assessment together so that I can monitor your well being throughout.

About me and my therapy practice
I provide supervision for individuals and small groups. This is tailored for those in the helping/caring professions, for students of counselling and psychotherapy courses and for qualified therapists.
I aim to provide a contained safe space for you to explore the processes between you and your clients, whilst creating a nurturing and growthful environment for you as a therapist/carer.
Practice description
I work from an upstairs room in my residential address, unfortunately, I do not have disabled access.
My work is both face 2 face and via Zoom
Contact me by phone or email for an initial discussion regarding your needs for supervision. Do leave a message if you phone and I am unable to pick up. I will aim to reply within the week, there may be a delay if I am on holiday/conference.
I am a Humanistic Integrative practitioner and have experience working with children, young people and adults. I have 12 years of experience as a supervisor, 24 years as a therapist in both private practice and in the voluntary sector, which has included managing a counselling centre. I am a tutor on a BACP accredited BSc (Hons) course.

This first session will explore your requirements in supervision and the context of your work. It is also useful to know a little about yourself and of your learning styles and needs and experience of supervision in the past. I would like us to be able to co create a growthful space for your therapeutic practice
If you are students, then it is useful for me to know the requirements of your course, the modality you are training in, your placements and a little more about you and your motivations and learning style.
