About me and my therapy practice
WHY ME....?
Most profiles correctly tell you they will provide a safe place to work through things that are on your mind.
What I also bring is a unique mix of outlook, training and experience drawn from different theories and techniques that will be tailored to meet your individual needs.
You are in charge of goals and subject matter (as you are the expert on you!) and I am a curious professional bystander to help you notice, understand & manage what's going on.
I encourage awareness and expression of the difficult stuff that might not often come up. I listen but I also ask a lot of questions.
Increased insight provides relief and clarity, revealing choices that produce change to what matters to you.
HOW CONFIDENT SHOULD YOU BE WORKING WITH ME?
Massively! I never take for granted how hard, time and £ intensive this is.
In return, I offer you the highest standards of safety and competence demanded by my Accreditation and roles as Clinical Supervisor & Counsellor in a local NHS IAPT (Improved Access to Psychological Therapies) Unit.
WILL I 'GET' YOU?
I celebrated and value difference. I don't pretend we are the same. What's better is that you'll feel OK to let me know what I need to and to tell me when I don't get it right.
WALKING THE TALK
Unfortunately, Mental Health and its treatment across many minority groups compares poorly to that of the 'majority'.
I am determined to be part of the solution, passionately providing equitable and inclusive therapy for all, including anyone who identifies as 'other' through their ethnicity, sexuality, gender, learning style and so on.
This extends to membership of an NHS Anti-Racism and Inclusivity team looking at challenging & change of policy, process and attitudes within the service.
In addition to the above, I also have experience working with people who are visually impaired, and their families, at the RNIB. So visual impairment is a subject close to my heart.
LET'S TALK WITHOUT OBLIGATION IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE.
Practice description
I'm really excited to open my new beautiful and discrete clinic in Whetstone over winter 2022. 10 minutes walk from underground, over ground and many bus routes. No parking restrictions for those that rather drive.
Until then, sessions are available on Zoom or phone.
My first session
Contact me with a brief summary of why you are coming and what you want to achieve. We will have a 5 minute telephone call just to make sure things like availability and so on will work and then we will schedule a full assessment session on the phone or by Zoom.
If we are a good match we will start in earnest in a regular weekly appointment. There will be clear goals and a treatment plan, with regular reviews to ensure we remain focused on your priorities.
Regular session rates start at £65, rising to £70 for slots finishing after 6pm. (The counselling hour is 50 minutes to allow a discrete space between clients so please arrange to arrive promptly)

About me and my therapy practice
WHY AM I A SUPERVISOR?
I have benefitted enormously by working with the most amazing and inspirational supervisors who have encouraged me and provided a knowledgeable and safe working relationship. I now aspire to take on this role with you!
MY THERAPY TRAINING
I am a BACP Accredited Humanistic Integrative Therapist & Supervisor with Person Centred/Psychodynamic focus. I integrate incorporate CBT, Gestalt, TA and anything else training and experience suggests might be useful. I am also qualified as an NHS EFT-CfD therapist. I got my BACP Accreditation in 2019.
AND SUPERVISORY TRAINING...
I qualified as a Clinical Supervisor in 2020. I work using the Seven Eyed Supervision model along with Stoltenberg and McNeill's 2010 work matching supervision pitch to the counsellor’s developmental stage, and Page & Woskett Cyclical Model too.
I support therapists of a similar training as their CORE supervisor, but also on a supplementary / consultancy basis for others looking for something extra. This includes accreditation, supporting non-UK therapists adjust to working here, career progression and so on.
...AND EXPERIENCE
I work both within the NHS and private sector as a therapist and supervisor. I started practising 1st in a GP surgery and the Royal National Institute for the Blind in London. Then I was fortunate to get a job in IAPT and have since benefitted working with a rich diversity of clients and issues that would not have come my way if I only worked privately.
Working in the NHS gives me confidence that I can offer my clients and supervisees a gold standard knowledge of the most up to date thinking in treatment, professional working standards and training on offer.
I SHOULD MENTION...
Equity and Inclusivity and not just a vague ideal for me and my clients. I actively work to be aware and overcome any negative way this problem seeps into all aspects both personally and in our profession. If you wish to know more, do ask me about what this means in real terms.
