About me and my therapy practice

I have two psychotherapy practices in Cambridge, at The Beechwood Practice, Hills Rd ( see other entry) and in CB2, near the Biomed Campus and Addenbrooke's, in Trumpington.

I am a warm, supportive and analytic therapist with over 3 decades of  experience in the nhs, psychological treatment services and psychiatry, as well as GP surgeries and college and university settings and private practice.

I headed up a university counselling service for many years where I offered psychological support to both students and teaching staff, before returning to full time private practice.

Depression, anxiety, fear, stress at work or in familial relationships can be very serious if left untreated. Loss, existential angst, mid-life crisis, divorce, work stress and many other challenges in life can all be addressed successfully with psychotherapeutic help.

Working through difficulties and challenges with the psychological support of an experienced mental health professional, in a safe, confidential space can be life changing.

I work with young people, couples in struggle, and run groups , especially for women with post natal depression.

I offer short term, solution focused counselling and long term therapy for people seeking help through talking therapy.

Anxieties and fears are great impediments to happiness and addressing these matters, as well as other mental health issues can be very helpful in leading us to happier lives.

I am BACP and UKCP registered and am a graduate of The Guild of Psychotherapists.

Email me for a consultation if you think I may be able to help you or give me a call on 07941760463

My first session

In the first session we will have a consultation about the issues or themes in your life that have brought you to therapy.

We will talk broadly about the challenges you face and I will talk with you about how I work and whether I think I can help you.

Together, we will come to a view which may involve you taking some time to decide whether to undertake therapy with me. You don’t have to decide in the session, although many people do.

If you do, we will decide on frequency, times, etc and make a plan for you to begin, following this introductory session. Therapy is a collaborative process where we will work together to identify and resolve the challenges you experience in life.
