About me and my therapy practice

BACP accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and qualified Counselling Supervisor, with over 12 years experience. I passionately believe counselling should be accessible to all, not just the wealthiest in society. I want to provide affordable counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples who are experiencing a wide range of emotional, social and relationship difficulties.

Human beings are naturally social creatures, however, I believe society is becoming more and more isolated and disconnected. Therefore, I believe face-to- face counselling is more effective than remote counselling. In my experience as a counsellor, I have come to recognise the value and importance of body language and emotional connection. I trust that sitting with someone in person   is much more beneficial for a clients emotional development and growth,  For this reason, I only offer face to face counselling.

Its important for you to feel happy and comfortable, but equally important is for you to feel able to end counselling at any time without penalty if you decide its not working for you.

Promoting client autonomy and wellbeing is at the heart of my values. The relationship between ourselves, will be based upon mutual trust and respect. Talking through repressed, denied or distorted emotions will help alleviate feelings of depression, anxiety and stress.

My counselling approach involves self exploration, which leads to deeper self awareness. This will help untangle mixed emotions and provide you with clarity and a deeper understanding of your situation. Providing you with the right support for your individual needs, will promote positive growth, improved self-esteem, confidence, understanding and change

My qualifications include

BACP accreditation: Training that meets  Specific requirements which involves rigorous assessment process

BA (hons) 1st class. Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy

Certificate in Couples Counselling

Counselling supervision diploma

Practice description

I believe creating a peaceful pleasant environment is important for my clients emotional wellbeing.   My practice is a bright spacious room with large patio doors overlooking a private garden aspect with adjacent cloakroom facilities, specifically designed for comfort and relaxation.

My aim is to provide a safe non-judgemental environment  for you to come and talk freely about any concerns or difficulties . Talking freely about  your life experiences, passed and present can help provide clarity and ultimately helps promote peace and  acceptance.

I have many years experience working in different settings, such as universities, charities and working with (EAP) Employee Assisted  Programmes, as well as running my own private practice.

I have a wealth of experience  with working with adults, students and young people who are experiencing emotional, academic and relationship issues.
