About me and my therapy practice
My name is Carol and I have been counselling since 2005. Finding a therapist can be quite overwhelming, so thank you for taking a minute to read my profile.
I offer a flexible and friendly approach. Sometimes talking things over and being heard and understood is enough, and at other times some tools and techniques can be useful to help manage in the longer term.
Life can be difficult - whether you are dealing with the loss of a loved one, managing anxiety, feeling a sense of overwhelm that makes life a struggle or just a sense that something is 'off' and you need to explore more - counselling can help to support you through these times.
I have particular experience helping clients struggling with anxiety, work based stress, depression, bereavement, grief and loss.
For those who like writing or keeping journals - I also offer creative writing techniques to help process and explore your experiences and sense of self.
I believe that counselling is very much a collaborative process between us. Please do get in touch if you would like to arrange an initial chat.
Practice description
I am an integrative counsellor - which means that I utilise different approaches to help each individual. My core training is in Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural therapy and I have trained in other techniques to expand my practice.
Being integrative means that I can tailor my approach and work in a way that is best suited to your needs.
I offer a flexible approach to appointments to suit different circumstances. Some people like to have the same time each week whilst others need more flexibility to fit around family/work situations.
My first session
I offer a free telephone call or short 15min Zoom meeting to discuss your needs before you need to make a decision about working together. Please contact me and we can arrange a suitable time for a short chat.
Once agreed, there will be some paperwork/contract to sign and then we will agree a time/date for our first session. The first full session will include an assessment - which enables me to find out more about you and ask a few background questions to help us in our work together. The first session is offered at a slightly reduced rate.

I consider myself to be an integrative therapist - which means that I have a range of different approaches that I am able to adapt to suit each individual. Integrative therapy is very much a collaborative process so that we work together in the way that suits you best.
My core training is in Person Centred and Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) therapy. Additional training over the years has enabled me to draw on many other techniques to help broaden my practice and better support clients. This has included creative writing and the use of writing to support well being.
I offer a flexible approach to appointments to suit your circumstances. Some people like to have the same time each week whilst others need more flexibility to fit around family/work situations. You are not tied to a set number of sessions and I offer short and long term support.
