About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Claire, psychotherapist and EMDR therapist. Thank you for visiting my profile.
Many of us find ourselves in need of a safe space in which to explore any issues, feelings, thoughts or actions which may be causing difficulties in our lives. Perhaps you find yourself in a familiar cycle that you’d like to change or you’re experiencing emotions, thoughts or behaviours which you are struggling to cope with or understand. Perhaps an event (or events) from your past is continuing to impact your present. Psychotherapy and EMDR can help.
EMDR therapy can be integrated into sessions in order to process traumatic memories which may still be impacting upon you. EMDR helps you process difficult bodily sensations, emotions, thoughts, beliefs and images associated with a traumatic event or events. If any memory, image, emotion or body sensation feels 'stuck' to you, EMDR can help you to process this 'stuckness' in order to move on from the trauma.

Practice description
I work therapeutically with adults and young people around issues such as childhood/adulthood trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, low self esteem and difficulties in managing anger.
My first session
In our first appointment, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy, how we might work together and agree on some goals for the sessions. Therapy can be long term or short term.
