About me and my therapy practice
Working as a Person-Centred Counsellor with a focus on the relationship means I offer a calm, confidential and safe therapeutic environment. In providing empathy, respect, and a non-judgmental approach in the counselling session to build a trustworthy relationship enabling you to talk about whatever is on your mind.
Subscribing to the BACP professional code of ethics means respecting the competences for work with Adults and Young Persons. My approach is being able to monitor a client’s way of expressing their thoughts and feelings, and my own emotional state being a guide in providing a valuable and relatable experience.
With a warm empathic approach, I can support you to be freely in touch with experiencing the process of self enhancement and have a positive experience of counselling.
Practice description
With a Person Centred framework I blend other modalities into the therapy, depending on what you want to achieve.
A Person-Centred Approach puts emphasis on the Counsellor listening in a way that lets you know you've been heard and that what you are saying, is of value. It is thoughtful and considered and because one approach will not suit everyone, by using different modalities I am able to tailor my responses to sensitively respond to your emotional state and inspire you to make connections with your beliefs and values to resolve your inner conflict.
I draw on different theories, the BACP ethical framework, self-awareness, and a range of skills to enable me to understand and respond to what is happening in the counselling session.
I will support you to understand, explore, challenge and cope with your emotions in the ways that you feel most comfortable with, so you are better equipped to manage your unique emotional journey through life.
I have worked in a variety of settings including.
No5 Youth Information and Counselling

Education as a Family Support Worker
Currently working in Private Practice, Schools and a local charity.
My first session
I understand that coming to Counselling can be anxious making and that you may be nervous and worried about what’s going to happen.
If you are interested in having counselling, please email me, following this we can arrange to have a 15-minute chat over the phone. We can then see if I am a good fit for you and if you will be comfortable working with me.
Each Counselling session is different and individual for everyone, and you always have a choice in what you want to talk about and how many sessions you’d like. Most people begin with six and carry on further until they have reached their own comfortability about the issues they raised and explored in the therapy room.
