About me and my therapy practice
There are times when we don’t know which way to turn and are afraid to burden our closest friends or relatives. Counselling offers you a safe environment to express any feelings, worries or concerns without fear of recriminations or judgement. Anyone can benefit from counselling, it can be useful when experiencing a crisis or to deepen self-awareness.
As an integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I use Transactional Analysis, Person Centred therapy and EMDR approaches. This I feel offers my clients a wide range of strategies to enable them to cope better with what life throws at them.
Alongside my therapy practice, I have also worked as a Personal Trainer for 35+ years & offer specific diet related coaching. Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. These might be from childhood, or more recent incidents such as a car accident.
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor offering a confidential service, run in a peaceful, private environment, with free parking. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process so developing a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of my practice. I can’t always answer my phone, so contacting me via text or email is best.

Testimonials
Lesley Snowdon was recommended to me by Bupa after I was identified has having anxiety and depression. I was not expecting the sessions to have any impact, and to be honest I was a little sceptical. After meeting Lesley my concerns were quickly put at ease because of her ability to balance her professional training and in-depth experience with a warm and honest personality. Lesley was key in getting my life back on track, and I would always recommend her for anyone currently suffering emotionally. BD 2022
My work with Lesley has changed my life in many positive ways. The process has enabled me to understand myself better and helped me develop strategies to manage my emotions. About me and my therapy practice
Supervision offers an extra set of eyes on the well-being of the client while examining and exploring the dynamics of the relationship and the wider contexts. It’s an essential safeguard against subconscious bias, such as personal prejudice, difference and our own behaviours which might skew the relationship between counsellor and client. Supervision provides a working relationship based on trust and respect. It can be supportive and challenging, encouraging both professional and personal development.
I work with both trainee and qualified counsellors to offer support with client work and personal and professional development. By offering supervision in an integrative model, I can support your ethical practice, your client work and ensure that you are working within your own professional limits.
I work within GP surgery environments, in private practice and in volunteer settings, working with adults and teenagers. I have also worked with individuals with disabilities.
I offer a discount to trainee counsellors and can accommodate groups of up to four trainees to further reduce costs.
