About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified and accredited psychodynamic practitioner. I work in private practice and offer daytime and evening sessions.
A psychodynamic approach to psychotherapy and counselling is based on the view that:
Feelings, thoughts and patterns of behaviour can be affected by unconscious motivations and reactions which can emerge and be explored in counselling and psychotherapy
Patterns of relationships in the past can be repeated and re-enacted in the present.
Reactions to the therapist and to the therapy can indicate past ways of relating and provide an opportunity for exploration.
The process of counselling and psychotherapy helps you to move on from the past, develop your capacity to change and to make new choices in your life.
In addition to counselling and psychotherapy from a psychodynamic perspective I also offer supervision to counselling trainees and counsellors in practice.
Fees negotiable depending on circumstances and are reviewed annually.
Practice description
I provide a private space within which confidential therapeutic relationship develops and provides a framework in which to explore difficulties and support change.
Psychotherapy offers a reflective space where you can discover your inner strengths and develop your capacity to recover and grow emotionally, both personally and in your relationships.

About me and my therapy practice
As a psychodynamic practitioner my theoretical stance underpins my supervisory style.
My style of supervision is relational and supports growing awareness and reflexivity in the practitioner.
I also work with unconscious processes in a way which supports the understanding of transference and countertransference in the practitioner’s work.
Practice description
I work with students and with qualified practitioners.
With both I aim to provide a collaborative, developmental space within which challenging, intriguing and issues arising from practice can be explored.
I aim to support the creative elements of the practitioner’s work, and to provide a safe space where ethical dilemmas can be explored.
My first session
The first session is used to develop a working contract.
It is also used to clarify the level of development/practice experience of the supervisee in order to offer the appropriate level of support.
Types of therapy
Person centred, Psychoanalytic, Psychodynamic, Relational
Clients I work with
Adults, Trainees
