About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m John. I offer down-to-earth counselling to help you make sense of whatever it is you’re experiencing.
I know how nerve wracking it can be to see a counsellor for the first time.
It can also be confusing, with a variety of people to choose from.
I re-trained as a counsellor in order to make counselling as accessible as possible because sometimes counsellors can make counselling more complicated than it needs to be.
I will leave complicated jargon where it should remain; out of the counselling room, so that you feel at ease and then trust can be built.
I will provide you with time, space, understanding, respect, honesty and an appropriate sense of humour, which are all very important.
You’ll be able to talk confidentially about what’s worrying you.
I’ll be listening to you, seeing the world through your eyes, whilst not judging and being genuine.
This Empathic, Accepting, Caring, Confidential & Supportive environment allows you to feel at ease because that is vitally important when talking about emotive subjects.
I’ve had the privilege of helping people of all ages, from all walks of life, for years now.
I had the privilege to be able to retrain as a Counsellor after a career in the Royal Navy and then working for many years in very high pressured sales environments.
I’ve worked as a Counsellor in the NHS, within Schools and provided Therapy to support Children & Young People In Care.
You may find it hard to speak with family or friends about what is troubling you.
I can help you make sense of how you’re feeling.
Helping you to gain a new perspective, no matter what the problem is.
It’s been a privilege to help so many people over the years and I look forward to being able to help you too.
Thanks very much for reading!
John
