About me and my therapy practice

I offer online Person-Centred counselling and EMDR therapy (eye-movement desensitisation and reprocessing) with over 17 years of experience.

I provide a safe, supportive, and empowering space for clients who are struggling emotionally and experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, depression, domestic and/or sexual abuse, trauma, and relationship struggles.

My core training is as a Person-Centred Counsellor with extensive knowledge and training in other theoretical approaches including Solutions, EMDR and CBT.

By offering support to explore the issues and looking to preferred futures it is hoped that this will lead to improved emotional stability and increase resilience and self-esteem.

I am an accredited member of the BACP and ensure to provide a professional and qualitative service that is delivered utilizing relevant legislation, professional regulations, practices and procedures.

I am also a clinical supervisor and conduct case load and clinical supervisions with employees and students.

Practice description

My therapeutic approach is integrative  combining Person Centred counselling with EMDR practice when required.

I have worked with a wide range of presenting issues and have a great interest in working with trauma and easing the impact that this can have on a persons everyday life.

Trauma is when we experience very stressful, frightening or distressing events that are difficult to cope with or out of our control. It could be a one off incident, or an ongoing event that happens over a long period of time. Most of us will experience an event in our lives that could be considered traumatic. I aim in supporting you through these difficult feelings.

My first session

I understand that taking the first step is not easy and I am happy to talk to you over the phone or via Zoom/email  to answer any questions or discuss any concerns prior to our first session together.

The first session is for setting expectations and starting to build trust between us. You might want to talk about what’s been weighing on you, explore how you’re feeling, or even reflect on what’s brought you to therapy now. We will then plan a way forward together.

Practice description

I offer Supervision for both qualified and trainee Counsellors & Psychotherapists. I supervise therapists working with individuals, couples, and groups, along with student counsellors whilst on their counselling placements.

I have extensive experience providing individual and group supervision in a therapeutic project where we receive referrals from GPS, CAMHS and children's services therefore safeguarding is monitored and addressed throughout.

The continued emotional support for Counsellors is of most importance to ensure that counsellors stay within professional and ethical limits,  protecting both the client and the counsellor. Through regular supervision, counsellors can deepen their theoretical understanding and improve their practical skills along with accessing support for their own wellbeing.

Supervision is not only for exploring client work but also support for the practitioners  wellbeing, your clients/supervisee's presentations and your professional/ethical development.
