About me and my therapy practice
"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom" - Anais Nin. Love this quote.
Are you in a dark, painful place? Whether your struggling with self-confidence, self-esteem, grief, anxiety, stress, an abusive relationship or another difficult emotion, behaviour, experience , counselling can help you learn to trust yourself, let go and blossom into the person you were born to be.
I believe the client will draw out of me what they need for their healing and growth.
Practice description
- I qualified as a Person-Centred Counsellor in 2001 from The University of Salford, and became BACP Accredited in 2004.- For ten years I worked at North Staffs Mind in Hanley on their adult and children's team. Where I also trained in and offered parenting support through Triple P.
- I then worked as an independent counsellor for adults and couples from centres in Cheshire, accepting self-referrals plus referrals through a number of Employer Assisted Programmes, Insurance companies, Occupational Health and Human Resource Departments. I frequently worked as a Locum Counsellor for NHS IAPT plus Talking Therapies as they were known then.
- With the onset of lockdown due Covid I worked remotely via video and telephone, and have chosen to remain working in this way.
