About me and my therapy practice
Are you going through a difficult time in your life? Have you lost someone close and struggling to cope? Have you suffered a relationship breakdown, lost your job and feel hopeless about the future?
I am here to support you following a bereavement, redundancy, breakdown of a relationship or any other loss.
For most of us the loss of someone who played an important part in your life or with whom you had a close relationship will be the most distressing experience we will ever face. Death in particular is not something people want to talk about, so it is easy to feel isolated and alone when you are grieving.
It is normal to experience a range of emotions such as shock, anger, fear, guilt, anxiety and confusion which can feel overwhelming at times and have a significant impact on your well- being. Loss affects people in different ways and there is no right or wrong way to feel.
Practice description
I have years of experience working with bereavement and loss. I can offer you a supportive, non-judgemental and safe environment that will enable you to explore and understand your feelings. Counselling is a unique experience and one size doesn’t fit all. I will often combine different models of counselling (CBT, psychodynamic) to suit your individual needs. I am member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work within their Ethical Framework.
There can be many challenges and changes following a loss and people often worry about how they are going to cope and what the future may hold. I can help you think creatively about the challenges that follow and work with you to develop strategies that will help you cope. I can help you resolve any lingering emotional problems and help you regain control of your life.
I am passionate about my work and am interested in exploring any issue you bring,
I currently work as a volunteer in a dedicated counselling service in Liverpool city centre and provide a flexible and affordable private counselling service in Huyton. I offer weekend and evening appointments to suit your busy schedule.
