About me and my therapy practice
I completed my supervisor's training in 2008, gaining a Certificate in the theory and practice of supervision from Metanoia Institute. I have practised as a supervisor for over ten years, with a focus on supervising counsellors working in the voluntary and health sectors. I believe supervision should be both safe and challenging; two sides of the same coin. If we are to be useful and ethical in our work with clients, we must find a safe place to bring our blind-spots and be prepared to challenge ourselves and work to provide the core conditions allowing clients to grow and heal. I have a good working knowledge of client issues including: homelessness, HIV, drug use, mental health, recovery from abuse, trauma and seeking asylum.
Practice description
I operate out of bases in Liverpool 1, and via online video-linking services. I work with both experienced practitioners and trainee counsellors. I also work with counselling and helping groups and organisations.
My first session
I offer an initial half-hour session for £25 so that potential supervisees can ask questions and be confident I can practice in a way that supports them. During this session, I will answer any questions on my practice and how I work, and ask more about your current work and future plans to check I can offer what is needed.
I will email my contract ahead of the first session to support preparation, and I will ask about any training requirements, future times and timings to ensure we can work together.

About me and my therapy practice
The world is not always kind, and personal and professional relationships can prove difficult, but it is possible to learn and to grow in spite of it all. I seek to support clients in working through problems and issues that affect them and stop them from living their lives well. I work to help people find their way to releasing their anxieties and moving on from being 'stuck'. I have been practising as a counsellor since 2000, working with people on a wide range of issues, both short and long term. I am a person-centred counsellor, with experience of supporting people through change.
Practice description
A person-centred counsellor with a degree in Psychology, practising for over 20 years. Over this time I have developed my practice to include couples work, trauma work, working through issues of abuse and problematic relationships. I work with health issues, health anxiety. I work with people who feel stuck, and those of us who sometimes feel fearful for the future. I also work with couples who are seeking to improve their relationship, or overcome obstacles.
I have office bases in Liverpool City Centre, and practice online therapy via Skype or Zoom.
My first session
The first session is the beginning of our work together. I ask you to explore with me what has brought you to counselling, and what you would like to achieve. You can ask me about my experience, and more about the way I practice, and I will explain more about person-centred counselling and some of the tools I use. Together we will explore the things you want to change, and outline where you would like to go in future sessions.
