Please note I am away from 8/12/24 until 19/12/24.
Please note I can only offer video, online or via telephone/ mobile phone. Sorry but face to face is not an option.
I work flexible hours and will consider holding sessions on evenings and Saturdays as well as within usual office hours.
I am open to working with different professionals, providing Reflective Supervision, whose work potentially involves levels of stress, complexity and ethical concerns.
I am flexible with the time and can do an hour or an hour and a half if needed, as this is the basic BACP requirement per month.
If an hour and a half, the rate is from £60. I am open to negotiating a slightly lower rate for Trainees.
I would also consider doing groups of up to 4 Supervisees per group. This would be at less expense for the participants and half the time can be claimed by each Supervisee. This would be 2 hours long.
About me and my therapy practice
I am offering Clinical Supervision to Qualified Counsellors or Trainees, also Reflective Practice Supervision for other professionals working with distress, who are supporting/ helping other adults.
I have built up over a decade of experience as a Counsellor, at first working for the Charitable Sector regarding Rape, Sexual Abuse, Domestic Violence and Bereavement. I went on to develop my Private Practice and work for an EAP company. I currently have over 2 years of experience working as a Supervisor and enjoy talking with and supporting other professionals. I believe Supervision can be an invigorating, exploratory endeavour, also refreshing and even enjoyable and fascinating.
I hold a CPCAB Level 6 certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision, qualifying in 2022. I also recently gained a Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding.
Discrimination and violation of human rights is also a common issue I encounter in therapeutic work. I have experience of working with LGBTQ+ people and people who have experienced racism. I have an interest in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, making this part of my ongoing Continual Professional Development.
Severe Anxiety is another issue I felt compelled to study in depth, where I have gained experience helping clients with this presentation.
I use the Seven Eyed model of Supervision as a framework and in foundation I am Person Centred in my approach. At times I integrate other therapeutic approaches and Supervision models.
My work is underpinned by the BACP Ethical framework.

Practice description
I am offering a space for you to air any concerns, thoughts and feelings about your practice that may arise. I hope to be able to help you feel comfortable and listened to empathically and in a sensitive manner.
You can expect to be supported in your practice and as a person in your own right who is working with distress and others mental health concerns. Your wellbeing is important, as well as your professional practice and professional development.
As well as working with Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Mental health professionals, I am open to Supervising other professionals such as Social workers, IDVAs, Coaches, Care workers, Teachers, Police, etc. All these professions potentially involve high levels of stress, complexity and ethical concerns.
I practice SGI Buddhism and have an interest in Spirituality and Existential concerns. I'm open for these subjects to come into the Supervision if appropriate. I personally strive to engage in Self- development and have undertaken much therapy myself. I have overcome much of my own trauma and unhappiness, which I believe gives me additional insight and knowledge. I am still working on myself, which simultaneously helps to motivate me in my work as a Supervisor and Therapist.
My other interests include Buddhist chanting, practice, study and being part of the Buddhist community in Cornwall. Friendship is important to me. I design and make ceramics and enjoy the big outdoors, be it cycling, walking or swimming. I like adventuring in new places I have never visited before.
My first session
I offer for free 20 mins (no more than 30 mins) on the phone, for you to decide whether you want to work with me.
There is a simple contract, including confidentiality and terms of service that can be added to, if you have additional needs, interests or desires regarding the Supervision work.
I can send this via email to be looked over, discussed, amended or added to if needed, signed (typed is fine) and sent back to me.

I offer Counselling face to face, online via video platform, by phone or online audio platforms, e.g. Whatsapp, according to your choice.
You can contact me first of all via text or through the bacp format as you wish. You can try ringing me, but my phone may be on silent as I am often working.
Sessions are usually 50 minutes, up to an hour max.
I work during usual office hours and sometimes evenings by appointment. Often sessions are weekly but I am also open to fortnightly sessions.
About me and my therapy practice
No concerns are too minor to work with. It may be that you are experiencing low mood and not know why or perhaps you feel you could be happier and wish to explore this. Feelings and emotions are crucial to wellbeing, informing our lives and the choices we make.
My specialisms include anxiety, severe trauma such as sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, also bereavement, anger, addiction and work related issues. I have studied these presentations in depth over the years. I also specialise in codependency. However, please note I work in this area one to one only (not with couples, family or multiple people).
The foundation I work from is Person Centred, also Pluralistic in my approach. I've knowledge of other modalities such as Compassion based approaches, Mindfulness, Solution Focussed and CBT techniques, which can be integrated into the therapy. CBT and ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) can be an effective addition in working with various Anxiety disorders.
I've built up over 10 years of experience, Accredited, also holding a Supervision Certificate qualification. I recently gained a Level 2 Qualification in Safeguarding.
I've gathered much knowledge and skills over the years, regularly studying, updating my practice with the latest developments.
Anonymous Client testimonials:
1. "I found Thomasina to be calm, compassionate and consistently professional. She made me feel at ease in the session, enabling me to open up about my difficulties in a safe environment. She was particularly good at making me feel like I had been heard, reflecting on the previous session and pointing out links between what I had said, that I hadn't even thought about. She always ensured I was in an ok place before I left, even after discussing distressing subjects. The sessions with her were extremely helpful and supportive, I would highly recommend her."
2. "A lovely very empathic person, who has helped me immensely."
Practice description
I am here to compassionately and mindfully help you to address any personal challenges and difficulties, in order for you to make beneficial changes and move onwards in your lifes journey, with increased wellbeing.
I aim to help you overcome overwhelming emotional challenges wherever possible and see this as an important part of the therapy. I will consult you on your wishes/ aims, attentively listening, as your wishes, thoughts and feelings take priority.
We can talk about past, present and/or future as you wish, all these aspects can be important. I regard our work together as a collaborative working alliance where I am facilitating you to explore and travel wherever you need to go, in the therapeutic process. At times I may gently encourage you in your exploration through questions.
I practice SGI Buddhism, however I am open minded to other religions, philosophies and ways of understanding life. I am willing to explore existential issues (e.g. death, isolation, freedom, meaning and identity) if appropriate. I believe we all have a "shadow" part of ourselves, that can either help or hinder, according to our relationship with this aspect of the self. I am interested in spirituality and if this is something you wish to talk about, then I am open to doing so.
The therapy is not necessarily confined to talking. I can also offer different approaches, such as working with objects, drawing, use of colour and writing. I can offer a tailor made pluralistic service, developed with the unique whole person in mind.
I may offer information, different perspectives or psychoeducation at times if I feel appropriate, but one of my aims is always to empower you, so I will never tell you what to do. I believe it's healthier for you to make your own decisions and come to your own realisations and understandings with my support and facilitation of the process.
My first session
I am offering a free 20 minute phone consultation so that we can discuss working together, to see if you are happy to proceed.
In our first session (if in person) I would require you to read over my contract and if you are happy, sign it in agreement. I can also email for your viewing and it can be sent back to me by email with your signature (can be simply typed). This outlines confidentiality amongst other considerations like cancellations and rearrangements. We would have time in our first session to begin our work together as well as discussing your best hopes for the outcome of therapy.
I have a duty of care, so would like to take some basic details. All information and anything talked about is confidential unless anything arises of significant concern. This is a basic requirement of professional counselling.
My belief is, as human beings, we are all inherently respect worthy, as everyone has immense potential to create positive value and benefit, for themselves and others. I have utmost respect for others choices regarding their beliefs and have worked successfully with people who have different beliefs, religions and philosophies about life.
My past experiences as a client, of helpful counselling and not helpful (even distressing) counselling, have positively informed my counselling practice. I can say, with hand on heart, I have proudly overcome some truly painful areas of my life. This gives me profound hope for others to overcome suffering, transforming their life in the process.
