I provide supervision for trainee, newly qualified and experienced practitioners.

I also offer supervision to education professionals.

About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced child and adolescent counsellor/psychotherapist, specialising in working with young people aged 5-25. I have a background in education and have spent more than 30 years working with young people in and out of schools and with a variety of organisations. I currently work in both primary and secondary schools and also run a private practice.

As a psychodynamic practitioner, I work in a way that relates to how the young person is feeling now, but also in relation to past experiences, events and people/family relationships. I work creatively, with play and have a 'toolkit' of skills, working flexibly to meet the young people where they are. I have a particular interest in culture and identity and working with young people with additional learning needs. I have wide experience of working with young people that are or identify as neurodiverse.

I also offer therapy to parents whose child/children have additional needs.

Practice description

I work collaboratively with parents when required, particularly during initial stages to gain and understanding of the young persons needs and the general expectations of therapy. Sessions are arranged at a regular weekly time, for a number of agreed sessions. We work together to establish how many sessions are required and review this regularly to ensure that the optimum outcome for the young person is achieved. I always work in the best interests of the young person, working flexibly to ensure the counselling is tailored to their needs.

I offer short (6-12) and long term (open-ended) counselling.
