About me and my therapy practice
Whether you are a counselling student in training, experienced, or work in senior roles in education, the caring professions, or business, supervision provides you with ongoing support and an essential safe and reflective space to grow and develop.
Practice description
I am an experienced BACP Accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with a Post Graduate qualification in Clinical Supervision. I have extensive experience in mentoring, training, and management within both the charity and education sector. I am an Association for Counselling and Therapy Online Professional Member working with many clients via online technologies so can support you effectively in both your online and face to face work.
My approach as a therapist and supervisor is integrative and client focussed, drawing on the best of contemporary practice to provide you with supervision which is formative, educational and restorative so you can be the practitioner you want to be in whichever field you are working.
As we work together you will have a reflective and safe environment in which to grow, and explore the dynamics of your therapeutic or professional relationships.
My supervision practice operates both face to face and via Zoom so you can access supervision from wherever you feel comfortable without the hassle of travel. Supervision meetings will generally last 90 minutes and take place monthly in order to comply with BACP minimum recommendations.
My first session
I offer all potential supervisees a free 30 minute appointment so we can discuss your supervision needs, your ethical framework and establish if I would be right supervisor for you and your professional practice.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to make an appointment to discuss supervision at Fairhaven Counselling and Supervision.

About me and my therapy practice
I will provide a safe, confidential, and caring non judgemental therapeutic relationship in which you will be emotionally supported while we explore solutions to whatever issues you want to bring to our sessions. I am an integrative practitioner and qualified to deliver EMDR - an NHS approved therapy for dealing with trauma. I work both face to face and via video link for clients outside the local area, in a comfortable dedicated private counselling room in Lytham St Annes, with flexible weekday appointments between 8.30 and 4pm. I offer an initial free of charge 30 minute consultation to enable you to find out whether I am the right therapist for you and if you decide to go ahead, further sessions will last 50 minutes. We will have regular reviews so that you can ensure you are getting what you want and need. Please look at my website for more information www.fairhavencounselling.co.uk
Practice description
I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and a member of ACTO - the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online. I am trained in Person Centred, CBT, EMDR (trauma processing), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
Every client will have unique needs and wants from their counselling. Some may want a few time-limited sessions to deal with a specific problem. Others may prefer to start with an open ended approach, unsure of the source of their distress but feeling that they can’t continue without addressing it. Whichever approach you choose, we will regularly review your progress to ensure you are getting what you need and want from the therapeutic relationship.
My first session
Sessions at Fairhaven Counselling last for 50 minutes whether you are working face to face or over video link or telephone. If you are a new client then I will offer you a first session of 30 minutes free of charge. This is to enable you to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to get from it, and also to give you a chance to decide whether my approach feels right for you.
If you decide you’d like to continue then we will arrange a weekly or fortnightly appointment to suit you. The number of sessions you have will be your choice and you can either decide at the beginning how many you want or leave it open-ended. In either case, I will do a review of progress with you at four to six sessions.
