About me and my therapy practice
My supervision practice follows the Inskipp and Proctor model of Normative, Formative and Restorative keeping the core conditions at the centre of the supervisory relationship. I have an integrative counselling approach based on humanistic principals and where helpful Solution Focused and Compassion focused CBT , whilst not overlooking how our past may impact both our own and our clients' present.
In addition to a private practice I also have experience of managing a counselling centre which supports my understanding of the particular issues that may arise in a variety of counselling settings. I don't work with Couples or Children.
My client experience includes both long term and short term work.
As a supervisor I will support you in your counselling practice professional self-care and client work, in addition to helping with ethical and professional issues.
Practice description
I have over 12 years counselling experience and see clients with a variety of presenting issues in my private practice and undertake professional CPD to maintain self awareness and knowledge.
My philosophy includes the belief that past experiences particularly in our early years can impact how we experience and react to event and relationships. However, also that with time, care and compassion including self-compassion we can develop improved coping mechanisms. As counsellors our aim is to support clients in feeling empowered to lead the most fulfilling lives that they can.
My first session
Our initial session will include an administrative matters not already discussed and learn more about you and your counsellor aims and needs. It will also enable you to get to know me and how I work.
I appreciate supervision is a big investment in time and cost and aim to provide the collaborative support needed. It is also important to agree how you will prepare for supervision to gain the most form the time.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer counselling for a range of issues including stress, anxiety, anger, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem and relationship issues. My counselling style integrates understanding how past life events may be impacting on how we are able to cope with current stresses and relationships, offering a compassionate, supportive and solution focused approach, in order to improve emotional resilience and process events.
I am able to offer on line appointments by video and in person sessions . Clinical Supervision also offered to both qualified counsellors and counsellors in training, please see separate listing.
Practice description
I am an accredited counsellor with over 14 years counselling experience and work with individual adults not couples.
Many events and experiences can impact how we cope and react to pressures and life events in addition to our emotional resilience. My aim is to offer a supportive and caring role where you can be listened to without judgement and develop a better understanding of yourself and improved coping strategies.
We cannot change past events but I do believe in time we can change how we cope with them to lead the most fulfilling life possible. My aim is to support and empower you to achieve your aims.
My first session
The first session will include explaining confidentiality, privacy and practical matters. It also enables us to meet and discuss what has brought you to counselling and the worries and difficulties you are facing, in addition to your counselling aims and objectives.
Counselling can be a powerful experience but also most effective when you feel able to develop a safe and comfortable working relationship.
