About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor and supervisor who has worked continuously in the NHS since qualifying in 2007. I originally trained in the person-centred approach which remains my modality of choice. I have also been trained in CBT skills, IPT (interpersonal therapy), trauma focussed work, and I am qualified in the Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression model, both as therapist and supervisor.
Practice description
I completed a certificate in creative supervision in 2017 followed by a Supervision of Counselling for Depression course in 2021.
I offer person centred supervision from my therapy room in Littleborough.
I am trained to work with person-centred expressive arts and creativity in both therapy and supervision sessions which can be fun and playful yet powerful ways to gain deeper insights.
I will be guided by whatever the supervisee wants to bring to the sessions, and their preferred way of working, with the option to bring in creative methods if they wish.
I have experience of supervising both trainee (student) counsellors as well as those who are qualified with many years of experience.
My private work days are Mondays and Fridays daytime hours.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer a safe and down to earth space to help you explore and process whatever you need to in order to help you get to where you want to be, and feel more at ease with yourself.
People often come for counselling when they begin to experience symptoms of low mood, stress and anxiety such as disturbed sleep, loss of motivation, increased irritability and tension.
It might be that you have experienced a significant event, or that you have a background of adversity and difficulty, either way, you might be hoping to improve your mood and energy levels, reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, and improve confidence.
I have over thirteen years experience of counselling in the NHS, and more recently have developed a small private practice. I have a peaceful counselling room which looks out over a lovely park. I no longer offer video or telephone sessions.
Practice description
My approach is to listen deeply and offer sensitive and considered responses to gain a thorough understanding of how it is to be in your shoes, and to help you find a way through for yourself.
I work hard to create a space which is free from judgement and evaluation, where you can feel safe to explore whatever you need to look at in therapy. I aim to be real with you, down to earth, open and honest and to value you just as you are.
I work in a trauma informed way which means that I’m interested to hear about what’s happened to you rather than saying “what’s wrong with you?”
My first session
I offer a free introductory half-hour telephone session for us to discuss whether what I offer meets with what you’re wanting, with no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you.
