About me and my therapy practice

I have therapy rooms throughout Greater Manchester, also work Online (video) and phone. I'm a experienced supervisor 'Seven-eyed Model of supervision', a certified Advanced Safeguarding Person, Trauma Informed Practitioner, Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP), Level 7 therapist in Strategic Approaches to Mental Health and Wellbeing, MHFR  (England) Accredited Mental Health First Responder, Critical Incident Responder. 

My counselling experience includes working in mental health organisations, schools, colleges, universities, EAP (Employment Assistive Programme). Autistic spectrum, bereavement and loss, anger, passivity, anxiety, depression, postnatal depression, prenatal depression, unexpected pregnancy, unwanted pregnancy, esteem issues, substance misuse, (OCD) obsessive compulsive condition, abuse; physical, emotional and sexual, couples counselling; relationship issues, parenting problems, families in distress,  lgbtqia+, suicidal and self-harming clients, and phobia cures.

Practice description

Supervision is for 1.5 hours per month or 45 minutes fortnightly

As I work face-to-face, Online (video) and phone I am a member of ACTO (Association for counselling and therapy online)

I believe supervision should be as much about the therapist as it is about the counselee (client) work. 

I offer flexible appointments.

Concessions are available subject to individual circumstances.

My counselling experience includes working in mental health organisations, schools, colleges, universities, EAP (Employment Assistive Programme). Autistic spectrum, bereavement and loss, anger, passivity, anxiety, depression, postnatal depression, prenatal depression, unexpected pregnancy, unwanted pregnancy, esteem issues, substance misuse, (OCD) obsessive compulsive condition, abuse; physical, emotional and sexual, couples counselling; relationship issues, parenting problems, families in distress, lgbtqia+, suicidal and self-harming clients, and phobia cures.

I work in both community independent sector and local authority providing an intermediate psychological care service bridging hospital and home care provision to people with immediate, short-term and long-term mental health needs.

I have extensive experience working with children, young people (CYP), young adults, adults', relationships, and families in a wide range of educational, health and social care settings including providing support, advice, supervision and training for parents, carers, teachers, and other mental health professionals. I work with people aged 6 years, and above with no upper age limit. My aim is to offer a supportive confidential non-judgmental therapeutic relationship to those in distress, or just need someone to talk too. 

I maintain professional indemnity insurance, and have been DBS checked

I work to the BACP Ethical Framework.

My first session

Pre-counselling you’ll receive an assessment. I won't expect you to leap into your deepest darkest secrets immediately although some people do. I'll need to know why you’re seeking therapy and your expectations of me.                                                                                          I might ask: Have you attended therapy in the past?  Do you have a history of suicidal ideation? Do you have a history of self-harm?
