About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Linda-Jayne I have over 18 years experience working with adults and children, using CBT and integrative approaches. This means that I tailor sessions to clients needs while integrating counselling strategies. I use therapeutic play and story work to help in developing self-esteem and resilience. I can deliver sessions face to face or remote depending on requirements. I have over 15 years counselling adults and children who are neuro-diverse, ie. ASD, ADHD, dyslexic etc. I am client led and use creative techniques in my work.
Practice description
I provide a safe, non judgemental setting where clients can relax and talk openly about their feelings. I empower clients to have their voice and manage challenging situations that they face in their lives.
My first session
Assessment sessions are usually 1.5 hrs, this is to complete a full assessment and then to psycho educate clients on how counselling could be beneficial and to identify possible goals.
When counselling children and young people a full assessment will be completed with parents and young people to help in identifying concerns and set goals. The assessment can be done individually or together, sessions are then delivered with the child or young person independently. I promote open communication and will therefore encourage families to talk about the sessions and for adults to support their children and young people in implementing strategies to help them manage their emotions.
