About me and my therapy practice
I hold a Diploma in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision. I offer supervision to trainee and qualified psychotherapists and counsellors as well as education professionals or other people working therapeutically with children and adolescents.
My supervision practice is creative, educative, safe and empathic. I use the Hawkins and Shohet '7 eyed model of supervision' as a framework within which a collaborative, exploratory and robust supervisory relationship can be contained.
I work in a creative way and we have the option of using art materials, clay, sand-tray and other media in our supervision sessions, should you wish.
I will support your professional and personal development as a therapist and work with you on ethical, theoretical, systemic and practice related issues. Your clients will always be at the heart of our work.
I worked for many years as a school counsellor, offering therapy to both young people and education professionals. I understand the unique challenges of working within these systems.
I currently work as a university lecturer on a MSc Psychotherapeutic Counselling training course alongside my private counselling and supervision practice.

About me and my therapy practice
I aim to create a compassionate, inclusive, empowering environment in which you can explore your emotional world and be supported to make desired changes to your life. I believe that given the right support, every person will move towards a more satisfying and authentic way of living. You will receive warmth, empathy and genuineness as we work together on whatever difficulties you bring to counselling.
Being an integrative counsellor means that I wish to offer each client the approaches or techniques that best suit their way of being.
This may include exploration of unconscious processes from the past that are creating difficulties in the present...old ways of being that once served us well, but no longer do so.
Some clients may prefer to use ideas from cognitive behavioural therapy including education around emotional and cognitive awareness, emotional regulation strategies and challenging unhelpful patterns of thinking.
Others see me when facing life transitions, or existential issues around finding meaning in their lives. I have a particular interest in working with educational professionals and women in mid-life, experiencing empty next syndrome or menopause issues.
Some clients may seek counselling with a specific issue, such as feelings of anxiety, low mood or relationship issues. Other clients have a clear goal for their therapy and enjoy working towards that. Some clients may know they are not satisfied with aspects of their lives but are unsure of what they need to move forward. I can help you with all of these difficulties and more.
I work with adults and young people aged between 16-18.
I am GSRD and LGBTQI+ affirmative.
All are welcome. Please feel free to get in touch for an initial conversation if you'd like to find out more about me and how I work.

My first session
I invite all prospective clients to meet me for an initial 30 minute session either in person or on video call to find out a little more about what brings you to counselling and how I may be able to help. There is no charge for this session. If, following this conversation we feel we would work well together, then we will arrange some further sessions, usually weekly, but fortnightly is also possible. There is no obligation to make any further appointments if you feel I am not the right person to help you.
