About me and my therapy practice
I offer relationship counselling for couples and individuals.
My aim is to provide a safe space where life challenges can be explored and also, if appropriate, where we can create a solid treatment plan.
As an integrative counsellor I use a wide range of approaches as is appropriate to a particular client - however I do believe that past experiences influence the way we form and maintain relationships therefore in my practice I often use the attachment theory as a main theoretical orientation.
I help my clients become fluent in telling their own life stories so that the past no longer confuses and overshadows what is important right now in clients’ lives and their relationships.
In sessions I am unlikely to tell clients what decisions they should make but I will provide a safe base from which exploration becomes exciting and enlightening.
I recognise that contacting an appropriate counsellor is a daunting and anxiety-provoking task, therefore I invite you to get in touch with me to ask any questions you may have and if you feel I could be the right counsellor for you to arrange an initial consultation.
Some of the issues I work with include anxiety, panic attacks, depression, stress, anger, inner critic, work issues, loss, childhood wounds, intimate relationships, life transitions, male identity, and finding meaning and purpose. Addictions (this can affect both the user and their family and friends) is one of my specialisms.
Practice description
My counselling room is located between Waterloo, London Bridge and Borough. There is a very short walk to stations - no more than 10min.
My room is located on the first floor. However there is a lift an an easy access for people whose mobility might be restricted.
I am offering sessions face-to-face (my place is safe covid-wise), however taking into consideration the worries associated with the covid I am also accepting client to work on-line via Zoom or Skype.
My first session
The first session gives us an opportunity to hear about the challenge you’re struggling with, to get to know each other and to decide the general direction of therapy. It’s also an opportunity to ask questions about therapy, myself and to get a good feel about the therapeutic process.
The first session, just like other sessions, lasts 50min.
