About me and my therapy practice

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you" - Maya Angelou, I know why the caged bird sings.

Counselling can help you tell your untold story, and your Counsellor can support you to live your life the way you want to.

Hi I'm Ruth, a Person centred Counsellor with over 10 years’ experience working with adults and young people. I offer an empathic, non-judgemental, safe place to explore with you, the things you feel are keeping you from having the life you want.

I sincerely believe in the potential of each and every one of us and through a compassionate approach we can explore your experiences and how these have shaped you. Many of our experiences can feel difficult to understand and we can work through that together to gain self-awareness and help gain the skills needed to heal. I will strive to be honest, kind and when appropriate, gently challenging to support you in your journey.

My personal approach is to work with you at your pace. I like to offer ways we can work together that I feel could be helpful, but it is always your decision if you want to proceed or not. I believe you are the expert of you and will know what approaches are for you and what are not. I believe in honest and genuine communication in a supportive nurturing environment.
