About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified supervisor and supervision tutor as well as counselling in private practice. I am also a tutor on a counselling diploma. I see supervision not only as a way of encouraging ethical and effective practice but also as an opportunity to enhance our practice through joint exploration - whatever the level of our experience, and advocate 'passionate' supervision over more functional supervision.
Practice description
I follow an integrative model but also find that the way we present clients in supervision can often focus on different aspects of the work. Sometimes, therefore, it can be helpful to use creative tools to explore some of the more complex aspects of our work.

About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, qualified, integrative counsellor, psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and counselling tutor. In addition to private practice I have worked in a GP surgery and counselling charity for more than 10 years which means I have had experience working with people struggling with a broad range of emotional, anxiety/stress/depression based, relationship, trauma and self-esteem related difficulties.
The therapeutic relationship is the foundation of any good therapy, providing a safe and confidential setting within which these difficulties can be explored to gain a greater understanding that can lead to improved self-awareness, managing your life differently and reducing the overwhelming feelings that are often associated with those difficulties.
Practice description
I offer an integrative approach that draws from a range of sources, believing that it is important to tailor my approach to you, rather than tailoring you to my approach.
My first session
If desired, we can have a short phone call before sessions start to explore your reasons for coming to counselling and your expectations for what you would like to get from it so that we can explore the most effective way of working together.
