About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced counsellor, supervisor and coach based in Over Alderley. I have been in practice for over 15 years. I offer a safe and comfortable space for you to explore issues you may be experiencing, life changes you may want to make or goals you may wish to achieve. My clients find me warm, friendly and empathic, whilst offering a level of honesty and supportive feedback. We can explore strategies to use in life and also discuss past events.
I run my practice from home in private surroundings which my clients find peaceful and safe. There is easily accessed parking outside.
Practice description
Alongside my counselling practice, I am a fully qualified supervisor. I am trained in the Hawkins and Shohet Seven-eyed Model of Supervision, which looks at the interactions between client, therapist, and supervisor in its various – direct or indirect - combinations. I work with the supervisee to develop a friendly, congruent, and respectful relationship which offers support, learning and being a professional colleague.
I have a wide range of supervisory experience from students, supporting them through their placements, to long standing experienced counsellors working for EAPs (Employment Assistance Programmes).

Practice description
My counselling practice has developed over time to incorporate CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) interventions, mindfulness, and therapeutic hypnosis where appropriate. I offer solution focussed therapy and also offer longer term counselling if a client feels they want that option.
Up until recently I worked part time as a counsellor for a local charity in Stockport and did so for over ten years. I was on the team providing counselling support for Stockport and Tameside council employees.
As a counsellor I am committed to keeping my practice relevant and up to date. I look to widen my expertise by continuing my professional development – training I have undertaken includes providing online counselling – a coronavirus primer (BACP and Open University course) and Single Session “One At A Time Therapy” (delivered by Windy Dryden).
