About me and my therapy practice
Hello my name is Pat. I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, (BACP). I have had my own private practice for many years and can help with a diverse range of problems. I offer one to one counselling in a supportive and confidential space. This will hopefully allow us to explore your concerns and problems with understanding and empathy. I am a volunteer support worker at our local addiction service and have worked for 15 years with Carers Counselling Services counselling carers of all ages. I have worked with some carers for three years where others only needed a few sessions to resolve their problems. It takes as long as it takes. I also work as a volunteer with MIND. In 2010/11 whilst studying my BA Hons in Counselling and Psychology I worked at Greenwich University in the counselling department where I saw many students and staff with a huge variety of issues. I received very good feedback from the Counselling Department about how well the clients I had worked with had done and how well it promoted the department. I work with a wide range of issues including Self Esteem, Self Worth, Loss, personal difficulties, abuse and domestic violence, relationship problems, anxiety and depression. I have also worked with clients who found counselling difficult to engage with but who seem able to relate to me. Our first session will be about getting to know each other. It is confidential and I work within the BACP code of Ethics as a Registered Member and Clinical Supervisor. Our sessions will cost £35. Please come and have a first session with no obligation to continue. The most important part of therapy is a good relationship between client and therapist. I do offer concessionary rates. Please email or phone and ask.
