About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified counselling supervisor, having completed my Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision, including Online and Telephone Working, through The Counselling Tutor. I work from a foundation of the 7-eyed model of supervision, offering a structured yet flexible space where we can explore your practice together. I believe that supervision should feel supportive and safe, allowing you to grow in confidence and insight as a practitioner. My approach adapts to your individual needs, understanding that one size doesn’t fit all.
With over 10 years of experience as a counsellor, my practice draws on a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Egan’s Skilled Helper Model. I value flexibility and creativity in my work, knowing that each person and each session brings something unique. I see my own journey of self-discovery as central to my growth as a supervisor, which means I’m always learning, reflecting, and evolving.
I have supported many counselling students through their work placement hours and I have guided other trainee supervisors through their training. I have also completed extensive training in working with LGBTQ+ clients, relationship therapy, advanced safeguarding, and youth work. This knowledge, combined with a down-to-earth approach, helps me create a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported, no matter where you are in your own professional journey.
Practice description
My supervision practice is built on the belief that supervision should be a warm, collaborative space where you feel both supported and challenged in a way that helps you grow. I’m a fully qualified safeguarding lead, so I’m well-equipped to help you navigate whatever issues may arise in your practice - whether it's complex client work or simply the ups and downs of the profession.
I approach supervision with a sense of flexibility and humour, understanding that sometimes a light touch can help us explore heavy topics. My role is not to tell you what to do but to work alongside you, helping you gain the confidence to find your own style and solutions. I believe every practitioner is unique, and my goal is to nurture that individuality while offering honest, constructive feedback.
I also believe in transparency. If something needs addressing, we’ll talk about it openly, and if I don’t have the answer, we’ll figure it out together. Whether you’re feeling stuck, need advice on safeguarding, or simply want to reflect on your work, I’m here to provide a safe, grounded space for those conversations.
Above all, I want you to leave supervision feeling empowered, more self-assured in your practice, and ready to face the challenges that come your way.
My first session
I do not charge for an initial chat/meeting. These shorter sessions are offered free of charge so that you can find out more about me, my practice, and if it feels right for you. I will send a very simple assessment questionnaire after this so that our first official session can be free of completing paperwork and we can get on with establishing a professional and nurturing relationship.
